On November 30, I asked you to ask me any questions you had about me, my web sites or blog...

Here is one of those questions that was asked.

What word makes you laugh no matter where, when or how many times you hear it? – JoAnna

- Any word that has a naughty word mixed in with the spelling. Like titmouse… LOL! Or, boob tube. ….Mmm… Nah! Just titmouse. LoL!

But it's not just words that make me laugh if I hear them over and over. There are also numbers. I am a geek, what do you expect. For example: 69, 88, 187, 314, 419, 420, 421, 6008, 6008135... Well, you get the point.

The T-Shirt My Sister Gave Me

I was trying to find on Christmas day, on the web, the t-shirt my sister gave me for Christmas. But, I had no success. Well, when I recently went to go put it on, the manufacture tag fell out of the shirt and it had the web site on it. Well, I went to the website and I think I found another shirt that I should purchase.

On November 30, I asked you to ask me any questions you had about me, my web sites or blog...

Here is one of those questions that was asked.

Why are you so weird? - Shellie A.

- Tristyn, what the heck have you been telling this girl...? (jk)

The thing is, why be normal? ...Plus, you can't say that I am weird until you really get to know me.

You Ask... I'll Answer...

On November 30, I asked you to ask me any questions you had about me, my web sites or blog...

Here is one of those questions that was asked.

When are you and Tristyn getting married? - Shellie A

- ROTFLOL (5 minutes later... wiping tear from eye...) That's a good one Shellie.

I am not ready to get married, to whomever it may be. I won't be ready for a while. When I am ready, I want to know that I can actually take care of my future wife (financially and mentally... the physical part I have down-- Giggidy... Ha! Ha! Alright...) without having her worry over problems that I should have taken care of a before we got married...

On November 30, I asked you to ask me any questions you had about me, my web sites or blog...

Here is one of those questions that was asked.

What is the worse thing that has happened to you this year? - JoAnna

- The worse thing that happened to me this year, happened back in May. I hate being woken to the sound of my car alarm going off… Especially if it has just been backed into by a truck!

Let Me Try Saying This Again

Yesterday, I posted that I will be changing the way I post my entries starting on January 12th. This does not mean that I am going any where... or going away for a while after that day... or that I won't be posting anything for a few days (in order to get stuff done, like I have done in the past)... No.

This means, instead of me posting a single day blog entry from anywhere from midnight (12AM) to 4AM (like I have been doing so), I will be posting a blog entry at any time of the day. So, if something happens at 2PM and I want to write about it, I will do so and then post it as soon as I have finished writing the code for it. I will not wait to have it posted on the next days entry... It will posted there and then!

One More Thing...

To make this blog look more like a real blog website (ala blogger.com), on January 1st, I will change the way this blog looks. It won't change by much, but you will still notice a difference.

I will not be changing anything that I have written in the past (blog entries or the way it looks...). I just don't have that kind of time to change that much stuff...

Tuesday, December 27, 2005

Changes...

Starting Thursday, January 12th, (after all the questions have been answered) I will be changing the rules a little for the way I post my blog entries here. Instead of posting a single day entry before 4AM, I will be posting them when ever I feel like something should be posted. I will try to post something new everyday, but if there is nothing new, please-- Check back later, or at another time... I will remind everyone the day before as well...

You Ask... I'll Answer...

On November 30, I asked you to ask me any questions you had about me, my web sites or blog...

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? - Tristyn

- Celebrating the 5th year anniversary of you asking me this question.- Mitch Hedberg

Sorry, I had to do that...

I would like to be out of the house. Don't want to be a 30 year-old and still living at home. Possibly married, and hopefully have tech-tonics.com well known by then.

(Trust me, if I am still writing my blog in 5 years, I will bring this up...)

So, What Did I Get For Christmas?

Tristyn gave me my gift early (on 12/10). She gave me the new Sublime album and a iPod vent holder for my car.

JoAnna said my gift is on its way... (I hope this is what she said I was getting)

Brian, he helped me get my network up and running. I now have all three computers connected in my house. Sweet!

My sister gave me a t-shirt that said, "Don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day."

On my moms' side of the family, I received a gift card to Wal-Mart.

On my dads' side of the family, I received a Texas Hold'em Poker set that you use the TV to play along with.

Then, on Christmas morning I got a Napoleon Dynamite talking doll, Season 5 of Seinfeld, three gift cards, a 3 ft tube of licorice (each licorice piece is 3 feet long!), new bed sheets, Star Wars PEZ Collector's Set (which, I will never open), socks, under-roo's, clip on visor mirror ("CAUTION: Do not install near or on air bags." ... Errr!).... Um... That's pretty much all I got.

Should vegetarians eat animal crackers? - JoAnna

- I said questions about me! However, I have a question for you ...

"Do you think that animal crackers make people think that all animals taste the same?"

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

I wish everyone the best today. Hope you got what you asked for. If not, remember, there will be something better next year (unless it was an antique that you were asking for).

I also hope that you ate your fiber like I told you to do yesterday...? If you didn't, that's okay... I forgot to as well.

I was originally going to use the picture on the right as the picture in my holiday greeting card picture (for customers for my business, and some others), but with everyone I told it to, no one seemed to get it until I told them what it meant. So I never had the cards made.

Although this is not an actual picture of MY keyboard, it is starting to look like it. (That is how I got the idea.) Can anyone guess what it is suppose to say? (Sorry if I have already told you what the answer is...)

I'll post what I got for Christmas, on tomorrows entry... Happy Holidays!

You Ask... I'll Answer...

On November 30, I asked you to ask me any questions you had about me, my web sites or blog...

Here is one of those questions that was asked.

What is your favorite memory? – Tristyn / JoAnna

- Well, a lot of my memories have long since been (in a computer geeks term) "deleted" due to drugs, but I still have some left. The greatest memory that I can still remember would have to of taken place on December 24th, 2001. I got to hang out with my best friend JoAnna again after exactly 6 months of no or very little contact. I can not get into the story as to why we didn't talk, but this was the first time that we did get together and talk face to face. I'll never forget that night. It was just the two of us. Of course, we were not on our best behavior. But we hung out, drove around town and it was just like old times. That is my favorite memory. …And, it was the greatest Christmas gift that I have ever received! It was not a material item, it was something better…

Here is one of those questions that was asked.

How much would you spend on an engagement ring and a wedding ring? - Shellie A.

- I don’t know. I have looked at rings online to get for an ex-girlfriend, but they never showed the prices. Actually, other than that one time, I have never had to worry about the prices when looking at them. So to help give you an answer, I don't know how much I would spend on a engagement ring, but probably $500 to $1,000 on a wedding ring.

It's a Festivus Miracle!

All though I don't actually celebrate Festivus, I do recognize this holiday when it rolls around every year.

If you are asking yourself, "What the heck is Festivus?!", you had to of watched a little show called Seinfeld. It was big in the 1990's. You might not remember it. ANYWAYS! I can't explain everything and how this holiday works, but if you want to read the rules and it's origin, visit Wikipedia: Festivus.

'That's quite a pole you have there, Frank!

What is one thing you want for Christmas? - Shellie A.

- Servo: “Yeah. Me, me, I want a Ted Williams signature inflatable bathtub pillow.

What I want for Christmas, is the new Seinfeld Season 5 &6 DVD sets that were just released, oh, and some clothes... That's about it.

I'm Sorry Tristyn...

But Rachel has you beat in jobs that suck. Read why...

Be sure to wish her a Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday Mom!!!

You Ask... I'll Answer...

On November 30, I asked you to ask me any questions you had about me, my web sites or blog...

Here is one of those questions that was asked.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? - Tristyn

- Lets see if I can go back that far............ (Straining)...

Uh, the first thing I remember wanting to be was a catcher for a MLB team. But somehow, I got out of that phase once high school started.

Then, once I got into high school, I really enjoyed photography. I enjoyed that. But once I graduated high school, I couldn't develop film as much any more. I didn't have the money for developing equipment, chemicals and supplies.

Can you guess what I want to be now...?!

Double Sweet!

Back in June, when I went up to the Napoleon Dynamite Festival, I purchased an ornament that looks like the "Vote for Pedro" t-shirt. Well, I forgot to tell my mother that I had already purchased my Christmas ornament, so she went out and bought me the Darth Vader ornament! Sweet! So Darth and the t-shirt ornament are now hanging on the tree...

Here is one of those questions that was asked.

Are you a virgin? - Shellie A.

- Looks like someone did not read my blog back in August. However, the answer is, no, I am not a virgin. Here is a link to my very first blog entry... Start reading...

Super Saver Style

I found this on a piece of paper at my work. I don't know who wrote it, so I can't give credit. But it made me laugh...

Super Saver Twelve Days of Christmas
On the first day of Christmas, Super Saver's sold to me... A pear from a pear tree;
Second... Two bars of Dove
Third... Three French breads
Fourth... Four calling cards
Fifth... Five onion rings
Sixth... A six-pack of pop
Seventh... A case of 7-UP
Eighth... An eight piece chicken dinner
Ninth... A 9v battery
Tenth... Ten limes for a dollar
Eleventh... Eleven ounce box of Kix
Twelfth... A dozen assorted donuts

Although some things don't make sense and could have been changed to something else, I left this the way it was written.

How Bored Am I Right Now

I actually edited the file on Wikipedia to Food 4 Less. Anyone want to guess what I added?

Here is one of those questions that was asked.

Where do you wish you were right now? - JoAnna

- Somewhere warm, but not to warm or hot… I hate the snow!!! Probably California. You said it was 42 degrees the other night out there (in California where you live), while in Salt Lake, we had to deal with 10 degree weather. I’ll be right over!

3rd Saturday of Every December

On the third Saturday of every December, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (3401 Highland Dr. Salt Lake City, UT 84106), and I am quoting from their web site here, "honors loved ones who have passed away with a Luminary of over 10,000 candles placed throughout the cemetery."

(Luminary means, A person who is an inspiration to others... I had to look it up myself)

So, every year, my family and I (not together these past couple of years) drive through the cemetery (as well as hundreds of other people) after the sun has set, to look at the lights.

For those of you who don't know, my sister passed away on December 18th, 1999 to ovarian cancer. This is where she was laid to rest. (Hence the purple S on Sunday...) (I tried to do a purple back ground for that day... but it did not clash well with the font/letters.)

Until January 3rd...

If anyone who reads my blog, or knows someone, that is in need of my computer services, go to my main page, tech-tonics.com. You will notice a coupon for 20% off either service. Just give me a call the day after Christmas.

Why haven't you been reading your [A+] book like you should? - Tristyn

- Because, I'm in the section about Windows 9x and I keep getting bored with it. That's why... Gosh! Besides, you made me read it a while back-- B'remember?!

Besides, I read a little on the next chapter (about NTFS) before I posted this entry. So :p

Geek Tip: Did you know that even though Windows NT can be installed on a NTFS platform, it is not compatible or it can not read data with the NTFS of Windows 2000 or Windows XP... Hmm... I did not know this. Don't know why, but it just can't.

7 More Days (One Week) Until Christmas

How is your shopping coming along? Better hurry up if you are not finished.

Just a helpful tip... Media Play (the entire corporation) is going out of business, and everything in the stores are 20%-40% off. Just be careful when choosing a line to stand in. Choose one that is not having problem with the debit/credit card machines. Tristyn and I stood in line for a good hour because of that! GD! That was a fun 35-foot walk...

What are your views on abortion? - JoAnna

- I have no real views or objections on abortion, whether it is for or against it. I leave it up to the person who is holding the child, and her decision. If the girl is against the idea, then I am with that decision… If she is for it, then I am with her decision.

I just wish people would think for just one minute and use a condom if they are going to do it... Unless they are trying to actually have a baby.

What is your favorite thing to do? – Katrina W.

- I have a few.....

...I like working on my blog, since I have to work on the HTML coding myself.
...I like working on computers.
...I like being off of work, but I can't stand not doing anything for a long periods of time... So I always end up back up at work.
...I also like to travel up to Preston, Idaho or over to West Wendover, Nevada, or anywhere new (within a days worth of traveling distance) just for the heck of it. I like going out to have a new adventure every once in while.
...I also like to drag State Street.

You Ask... I'll Answer...

On November 30, I asked you to ask me any questions you had about me, my web sites or blog...

Here is one of those questions that was asked.

If there is one thing you could say to Napoleon Dynamite what would it be? - Shellie A.

- I'd like to answer that in three ways, if I could...

First, if I was to meet Napoleon Dynamite (the character), say I was in a scene with him, it would have to be the, "What are you going to do today, Napoleon?"

Second, if I was to meet Jon Heder in real life, the guy who plays Napoleon Dynamite, while walking on the street, per say, I'd probably say "Hi Jon", and let him go on his way. He has a life to.

Third, if he was signing autographs, I'd simply ask for his autograph and a picture, thank him and go on my way. I’m not going to say “Oh my God!!! I’m your biggest fan!!!” I'm more civilized than that… As I have learned in life: There is always someone out there worse than you...

Doughnuts, I Got Doughnuts...

While checking out Wikipedia on the subject "My Name is Earl", one of the things written on his list was "Did donuts on football field during third quarter". I checked out the Wikipedia link to donuts, and there was a link to someone who explains how to accomplish a donut in both a front and rear wheel drive automobile.

Ohhhh! I can't wait to test this out.... on Tristyn's car!

Final Question Answered

I have finally answered the last question to all the questions everyone has asked me. The last question will be posted on January 10th, 2006. That is how far I have pre-written my blog entries. I hope everyone is enjoying the questions, and the answers to those questions.

If you have a question to a question someone else wrote me, or you have a question to one of the answers that I responded with, save them or e-mail them to me.... there is a good chance that I may do this again later.

What is your most embarrassing moment? - JoAnna

- I don’t have a major embarrassing moment that stands out in my mind. However, since I have always had problems with hearing since I was very little, I am still not use to some sounds (such as loud surprise noises).

So, I hate it when ever I am around balloons...

Sunday, Freakin' Cold Sunday

On Sunday (12/11), my family and I headed up to the Utah Olympic Park in Park City to take a couple of simple family photographs to send to my nephew in Arizona.

However, while up there, they had a few displays outside the main visitors center that showed who won what (medals), and in what category they won them in. One of them was Tristan Gale. She won Gold in the Woman's Skeleton.

Now, the reason why I bring her up is because of bragging rights... I actually went to school with her. That is all. (lol)

I was just reading the 20 Questions with Tristan Gale, and she is preparing to be in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy ... Go, Tristan!

Also, there are 25 Top Newcomers to watch in 2006. Two of them are from here in Utah.

Zach Lund, 33, of Salt Lake City, Utah will be competing in the Men's Skeleton and;

Noelle Pikus-Pace, 23, of Orem, Utah will be competing in the Women's Skeleton.

Go Team USA!

On November 30, I asked you to ask me any questions you had about me, my web sites or blog...

Here is one of those questions that was asked.

When do you plan on buying a Mac[intosh]? – Tristyn

- I plan on purchasing either an iBook or a Powerbook in the first half of 2007 (if either one is still manufactured around that time). This way, I know that I'll have the new Mac with the Intel processor.

I Can Partially Read It, But Can't Write That

Last Friday (12/2), I drove down to the Orem CompUSA store to get some new earbuds (what the iPod earphones are called). On my way home, I saw this billboard ad (right after the Lindon exit). It took me a second to realize what it was, but once it hit my brain, I finally understood what it said.

If I am correct, I believe this is JavaScript. However, I do recognize the cout << "Now Hiring" >> endl; part. I used that style of code when I wrote a program in C++.

Anyone want to take a guess at what it is saying...?

Hey Everybody...

IT IS SKIDZ 21st BIRTHDAY!!!!

Be sure to wish him a Happy 21st! May you get drunk, and prosper! (just kidding, dude...)

Brian, I hope you didn't mind that I took this picture from your profile on My Space, but this is the only cool picture that I could find of you...
On November 30, I asked you to ask me any questions you had about me, my web sites or blog...

Here is one of those questions that was asked.

What is the name of that song [that was played to the video that was on my November 25th's blog entry]? - Brian

- I did a little research, and according to iFilm.com, the music was set to the sounds of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The song is called, "Wizards In Winter", and the song comes from their album, "The Lost Christmas Eve".

What is your favorite Sublime song? - JoAnna

- I have a few answers to that. The song that I like right now is called, "Minor Threat". Second to all-time favorite, is called "Hope" (It reminds me of someone I once dated).

But my all-time favorite song is called "Badfish". It reminds me of my struggle with drugs and trying to get off of them, just like Brad (the lead singer of the band, for those who didn't know, who died of a heroine overdose...).

Last Chance!

If anyone want's to ask me a personal question, today is the last day to ask me, to have it posted on a future blog (which I start posting tomorrow.)

If you ask me a question after today, I'll reply by answering the question personally by e-mail... Unless the question is super good!

If you do have questions, click here.

Attention Super Saver Shoppers!

If anyone was shopping at the Rose Park Super Saver store on December 5, 2005, between the hours of 5PM and 7PM, and found a beanie matching the picture description to the right, please leave the beanie where it is, do nothing about it and keep on walking by.

Okay, here is the deal on why I posted this. Someone really did lose their beanie during that time mentioned above. However, the guy who lost it, apparently wanted us (the employees) to make "Lost" fliers for it. Had his head been attached to his body when he lost it... Yeah, let's not go there...

Then visit the Nice-o-Meter, enter in your first and last name, and see if you have been naughty or nice this year... Don't worry, you are not signing up for any spam mail. You only have to enter in your first and last name. That is it.

If anyone would like to visit Santa's Village (the merriest place in cyberspace... since 1995), click here. Make sure you have a lot of time to kill. The is A LOT to do there.

Come On People!

I'm not getting enough questions to answer. However, Shellie has asked the most questions...

Shellie 10
Tristyn 7
JoAnna 2
Brian 1

... Come on JoAnna... I know you! You are filled with questions that you are just dying to ask about me. If you do have questions, click here.

Computer Software Lab Rat

Right before I stopped visiting digg.com, I found a digg story/link that someone had posted, which allowed people to sign up for Microsoft Connect. Microsoft Connect lets anyone participate in testing software (BETA) that is created by Microsoft before it is released to the general public (ALPHA). If you want to try Microsoft's beta software, you have to first sign up for Microsoft Connect, then wait for them to select you to participate in testing out their software.

As of this moment, I am currently testing their new software called called Windows OneCare. It is Microsoft's own version of Norton's SystemWorks, that they plan to release to the public in the future. So far, I have had no 'bugs' to report since I just installed this software on a clean slate.

This is my evaluation for this product... The ease and use of this program failed (for beginning users, which is who this program is going to be aimed for when it is distributed). The anti virus part was neutral. The firewall passed, yet still has issues. The feature called Performance Plus passed. The Back Up and Restore feature was neutral, because people are not going to be constantly backing up their personal files.

All-in-all, this program is okay, it just needs to be worked on some more before it is released. But if I was to be asked about whether or not someone should buy it... I would give Windows OneCare a Thumbs Down!

Photo Booth... Andy Warhol Style

On Thursday (12/1), I had to return an item at CompUSA. But since I had some time to kill before I actually had to head into work, I started messing around with the new iMac.

The new iMac has the webcam (iSight) built right into the computer itself. Well, they happen to write a pretty cool program called Photo Booth. Well, since I was messing around with the computer, I found the actual photo file (which was a bitch to find-- thank goodness for Spotlight) and e-mailed my photo that I took on the computer, to myself. Not the best photo in the world, but you get the idea of creative styles that you can mess around with, just to have your taken with the program.

Then on Friday (12/2), I went back in to take a better Photo Booth picture. That one, you can see as my main picture when you visit ryansharich.com.

Just A Reminder

I'm just reminding everyone that I am still taking questions for future blog entries. Tristyn gave me the idea to post a single question or two every day until the questions are up. I was originally going to post them all at once, but this way I know people will come back here (hopefully everyday) to see all the Q&A's, and to see the answers to their own personal questions...

When I say everyone, I mean everyone! This include you too, Shellie and Dayana (please forgive me if I spelt your names wrong...)! (lol)

If you do have questions, click here.

I took my car in Wednesday, and they found out what was wrong with it. The ignition wires... whatever that is. Oh well. At least my car works again and I am glad.

Mozilla Firefox

Anyone who knows me well, knows I hate to use Internet Explorer (except when it comes to getting Microsoft Updates, but that is it!). That's why I use Mozilla Firefox to surf the web. Well, on Tuesday, the Mozilla team (meaning the company) released version 1.5 of Firefox. They jumped from 1.0.7 to 1.5. That's a big jump!

Why am I posting this as a blog entry?

One- I'm a geek... I'm going to talk about technology.

Two- If you have not tried Firefox, I really recommend trying it out. Give it a week before you say you don't like it. It took me a few days to get use to it.

If you don't like it, simply uninstall it...

Assignment Time

I was going to post some questions about my blog that I have been personally asked. But the problem is, I can only remember two of the questions that I have been asked (I'll post them later).

Now, what I want everyone to do is to e-mail me and ask me any questions that you have. Whether they are about me, my web sites or my blog, and if they can be answered, I'll post them here in an upcoming entry. So, this means that you need to go through my blog and if you see or saw something awhile back, e-mail and ask me about that certain blog entry. Or, if you just have a question out of the blue, feel free to e-mail me with that question. The more questions you ask, the better that entry will be! If you don't want to be the one credited for the question, please tell me that you want your question(s) to be asked by "Anonymous".

November 29, 2005

I don't have much for a blog entry today. All I have to say is that my car is starting to act weird and that I am taking her in tomorrow to be looked at. Hopefully, they can fix her. If not, then it looks like it is time to start looking for another vehicle. I'm hoping that they can fix her because I have had some fun times and adventures with that car.

Albino Brain Chiggers! Cover Your Ears!!!

Well, it finally snowed here in Salt Lake on Saturday/Sunday (I can't remember for sure.) Not much, but still enough to cover the ground (where I live).

Now, if you'll follow me outside, I'll show you how to write your name in it...

While I was trying to find a picture for 3rd Rock from the Sun on the internet (which I couldn't) for this entry, I found out that Season 2 was released back in October.... Why the hell didn't anyone tell me?! Gosh!

Done and Done

Well, my holiday shopping is done. Friday night, after getting off of work around 9PM, I headed to Wal-Mart and purchased my Christmas gift. I bought the Garth Brooks Limited Series Box Set. YES...... I listen to country! Well, not all of country... But enough to say that I can stand to listen to it. Well, some, but not all of it... You get my point!!!

Anyways, I then headed elsewhere to get my other gifts for the people I know. I can't say exactly where I went, or what I got, because that would then ruin the surprise on Christmas morning.

For those of you who are keeping a tab on me, this is a new world record! I normally wait until the last second to do my shopping. Nope, not this year. Just need to wrap the presents up.

I found this helpful pieces of advice while looking for the picture that is on the right... It will help you in not becoming a victim of fraud or any scam during the holidays.

God's Email

I received this e-mail from Rachel. Thanks Rach!

One day God was looking down at earth and saw all of the rascally behavior that was going on. So he called one of his angels and sent the angel to earth for a time.

When he returned, he told God, "Yes, it is bad on Earth; 95% are misbehaving and only 5% are not."

God thought for a moment and said, "Maybe I had better send down a second angel to get another opinion." So God called another angel and sent him to earth for a time too.

When the angel returned he went to God and said, "Yes, it's true. The earth is in decline; 95% are misbehaving, but 5% are being good."

God was not pleased, so he decided to e-mail the 5% that were good, because he wanted to encourage them...give them a little something to help them keep going.

Do you know what the e-mail said?

No?

Okay, just wondering. I didn't get one either.

Happy Black Friday, Everyone!

Just to help you out in your holiday shopping, here is Yahoo!'s Top 10 Worst [Electronic] Products of 2005. I knew the ROKR would bomb!

Don't worry couples, I have you covered here too. Guys, give your girlfriend some simple, but not too expensive jewelry. She will appreciate it. But just make sure that the jewelry doesn't say "I'm Cheap"!
Ladies, can't figure out what to get your boyfriend? According to Dane Cook, the best gift to give him is h___! LoL

If This House is a Rockin'...!

If you thought some twinkling lights and a lawn Santa Claus would win "Best Lighting Design" to your house in your neighborhood tournament, check this video out. I bet that the neighbors next to this guy must hate him for what he did. How this guy did it, I don't know...

Thanks TJ for showing me this video!

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

I just would like to wish everyone the very best today!

What am I thankful for...?

- All the computer repair business that I have received over the past year!
- Those that kept me going when things seemed down...
- That I don't have to work today!
- Everyone who reads my blog (and all those who have visited any or all of my web sites)

(My favorite part of Thanksgiving, the pumpkin pie... Oh, yeah!)

Hey Everybody...

IT IS TRISTYN'S 23RD BIRTHDAY!!!!

If you know her... Be sure to wish her a Happy Birthday!!!

Good Luck, Katrina!

For safety reasons, I can't tell everyone exactly where she is going to work...

I wanted to write about this on Saturday, but you read why earlier...

I just want to wish Katrina the best at her new job. She is no longer going to be working with me at Super Saver. Well, the new place you are at, I wish you the best of luck and hope that you have a fun time there. It was great to get to know you, especially while we were at Van Winkle.

Oh, and thanks for spotting me on the Jumbo-Tron at the Jazz game a few years back. That made me, acting like a fool on the Jumbo-Tron, worth it. LoL.

Finally, Level 2

No, (LOL) I'm not playing World of Warcraft, I'm talking about my user profile on TV.com. In order to make comments or episode corrections towards television shows, you have to become a Level 2. Well, I finally did it. After two or three months, I finally did it. Now I guess I can get back to editing the Hong Kong Phooey episode guide that I was working on before they switched from TVToMe.com to TV.com.

If you think I am bad and "have no life", there are people on there that are Level 30+, and TV.com has only been around since May...

If you are wondering what Tyrone Biggums is doing as the picture, that is my profile icon. (lol)

That Is Number 3!

A while back (November 7th), I
posted an entry about the video of Jon Heder on DearElder.com. Well, I wrote and told the webmaster of NapoleonStuff.com about the video. Well, he recently posted a link so anyone could view the video... and he gave me props for telling him about it. That makes that posting on his site, number 3 for me.

I just want everyone to know... I didn't find the video, I only found the link to the video on Wikipedia because someone else found the video first....

All I did was tell him about it. But he still gave me props! So, I still stand by my word for repaying the favor of linking my web site...
CHECK OUT NAPOLEONSTUFF.COM!!!

Home...

Well, where to start about my trip on Thursday and Friday...

THURSDAY
Let see, Tristyn woke me up early again on Thursday. Well, it was early to me. I went to bed very late because I was up most of Wednesday night/Thursday early morning re-working the HTML code and design on my tech-tonics.com website. It has more than just one page now. I have it looking like the way I had it a few months ago, but not so complicated this time. Check it out! Sorry, no Santa hat on the M of .com... Yet... I'll wait until after Thanksgiving.

Well, I finally got up around 11:30AM and started to get ready to leave. Before I could leave town, I had to ship a package to someone in New York who finally bid on and won the pack of cards that I placed on eBay three, four weeks ago. I didn't make a profit on it. I just ended up making back the money it took to place it on eBay 3 or 4 times.

I then went and picked Tristyn up and we headed to my work to pick up my paycheck. Cashed it and headed up to Brigham City. We had to stop at the Wal-Mart in Brigham City because I needed get some socks. lol. We then continued on up through Sardine Canyon, up on through Logan into Franklin, Idaho. We had to stop at La Tienda to cash our previous winning lotto tickets. After that, we drove on into Preston, Idaho. We decided two things when we drove into town. One, we will drive up on into Pocatello, Idaho to spend the night there, and two, we will stop and eat at Big J Burger in Preston before heading up on through to Pocatello.

We finished eating and headed on up into Pocatello. Just a bit of advice... When traveling on lone roads and you are listening to your iPod, have another person change the song or artist or whatever function for you. If Tristyn didn't say anything, I would have rolled my car because a turn came out of no where while I was looking down at my iPod.

We had to stop really quick in Downey, Idaho at the Shell Gas station. That is a must when visiting that part of Idaho. After Downey, I kept driving north to Pocatello. When we arrived to Pocatello, I got off the first exit and started driving around Pocatello to find a place to stay. Ugh! Trying to find your way around there is a nightmare. Well, we finally found a Holiday Inn (that was the best looking hotel/motel up there) and registered to stay there for the night. Unloaded my car of our luggage and then we headed to the store to get some alcohol.

While we were drinking (in the room), we watched Golden Girls. I haven't watched that show in YEARS! After that was over, we found something on HBO about the Adult Video Industry. Did you know that there is an award show for these things? And also, the porn that Andy tries to watch in "The 40 Year Old Virgin" called, "Space Nuts" (a mock of Star Wars), is an actual porn video. It won best comedy in porn. LoL!

After that watching that show on HBO, Tristyn and I tried to straighten up our act to walk down to the gas station near the hotel, but failed every time because every minute we were cracking each other up because of how stupid we were acting. We first has to stop by the lobby of our hotel and use the internet on the complimentary computer. That's sad. Even on vacation, I can't get away from a computer.

We came back to the room and I partied some more. Now I see why I shouldn't drink anymore... I opened my "vault". I am not going to say what I talked about, just that I need to express myself and talk more often when normal.

After getting that personal stuff off my chest, Tristyn soon after fell asleep and I stayed up drinking more and watched an episode of Frasier.

I did exactly the one thing that I wanted to do on this trip... I got wasted. Well, because of me doing that, I know it's not best for me to drink anymore because of how bad I was in the morning.

FRIDAY
How bad did it get? ... I won't get into the full details, but Tristyn had to drive us home. She found it kind of funny that whenever we take her car, I always drive (95% of the time) and she will rest when I drive. This time, we took my car and she drove home while I slept. So, the car ride home was a blur because I slept.

When we got back to Salt Lake, we came to my house and we both crashed (me some more). Later, I had gotten enough strength back to take Tristyn home. Also, I could finally eat something and could keep it down.

Later Friday night, Tristyn came back over to my house. We then drove to my work because we had to drop off some "presents".

Well, one thing is for sure. No more alcohol. I've had my fun. Now it's time to get back to being serious again.

I know that young people, like my brother, read this blog. I just want to say that alcohol is not the way to go. There are other and much better things you could be doing...

Busy, Busy Day...

Well, yesterday, I had a busy day.

First, Tristyn woke me up much earlier than I normally get up. But after getting ready and then leaving my house, we first stopped off at the library to pick up some CD's. I finally have a Kiss and Grateful Dead album now. Sweet! I say "album", meaning one album a piece.

Then, we quickly stopped at Jason's Deli to get me something for my breakfast (even though it was after noon o'clock by the time we got there). We then headed out to the Gateway Plaza because she wanted to visit The Living Planet Aquarium. Well, before we headed in to check that out, we stopped in at Borders and I bought three computer books. One of them is about PHP.

PHP is a computer language that is used in web pages. So if I actually completely read this entire book, and figure out how to write in PHP, many of you who actually read my blog will be able to write your comments and opinions about any of my future blog entries. You have a voice to, and I would like to hear... I mean, read, what you have to say about what I write. So, hopefully I can get that figured out.

Sorry, back to my story. I bought those 3 books and then we headed to and checked out the aquarium. It was interesting. However, I believe the Aquarium of the Bay on Pier 39 in San Francisco is much better because they have a tank you can look up and see creatures of the sea [PICTURE].

Well, after checking out the aquarium, we officially had lunch at the California Pizza Kitchen. They still know how to make a pizza. Their food is so good, I'm craving a pizza right now as I write this, the style of pizza that we ate. Good thing they make and sell this style of pizza in stores. This stuff is addicting like crack... Mmm-hmm!

After eating, we walked over to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and I purchased some Sea Foam. Never tried it? Well... Go! Try it! We left Gateway and headed to the dollar movies. I was able to finally see The 40-Year-Old Virgin. It is a good movie, but nothing beats Napoleon Dynamite. And yes, I did notice the MST3K:TM poster that I mentioned earlier..

After the movie, came home and started packing for Idaho. I then remembered that I have a blog to write, so here I am. Plus, I'm only going up for the night, so I don't need to pack much.

Well, see you all on Saturday!

On the Road Again...

I'm going to be heading up to Idaho later this week. So if anyone that I personally know would like anything (cough!) while I am up there, just let me know before I leave. My new phone does not get service up there. I'll be back sometime Friday afternoon.

Oh! Just to let you know, I won't be posting a blog entry for Friday.

BEWARE!

(Another humorous e-mail from JoAnna)

Police are warning all men who frequently visit clubs, parties and local pubs, to be alert and stay cautious when offered a drink from any woman.

Many females use a date rape drug on the market called "Beer" to target unsuspecting men. The drug is generally found in liquid form and is now available almost anywhere. It comes in bottles, in cans, from taps, and in large "kegs."

Beer is used by female sexual predators at parties and bars to persuade their male victims to go home and have sex with them. Typically, a woman needs only to persuade a guy to consume a few units of Beer and then simply ask him home for no-strings-attached sex. Men are rendered helpless against this approach. After several beers, men will often succumb to desires to perform sexual acts on horrific-looking women to whom they would never normally be attracted. After drinking Beer, men often awaken with only hazy memories of exactly what happened to them the night before, often with just a vague feeling that "something bad" occurred.

At other times these unfortunate men are swindled out of their life savings, in a familiar scam known as "A Relationship." It has been reported that in extreme cases, the female may even be shrewd enough to entrap the unsuspecting male into a longer-term form of servitude and punishment referred to as "Marriage." Apparently, men are much more susceptible to this scam after Beer is administered and sex is offered by the predatory females.

Please forward this warning to every male you know. If you fall victim to this insidious Beer and the predatory women administering it, there are male support groups with venues in every town where you can discuss the details of your shocking encounter in an open and frank manner with similarly affected, like-minded guys.

Hello, World!

Well, thanks to JoAnna, I signed up for an account on MySpace. As of now, I'm trying to change the coding to get it so anyone can read my blog here instead of me posting another one there.

Although I just created the account, I am not planning to post a lot on there. I'm going to keeping my blog here, and keeping this web page updated more than on there.

Dang it! Because I've been messing around with that, I am missing precious moments with catching up on Lost.

It Was a Stroll Down Memory Lane

Well, I walked around my neighborhood and passed out flyers yesterday, and it felt weird. I haven't walked up to each house in my neighborhood like that since I was in the 6-8th grade, because of Halloween. Oh well, not time for sweets. It time to start letting people know I am out there and ready to do business.

Thursday, November 10, 2005

Let's Hope This Works

I had Tuesday and Wednesday off. On Tuesday, I had Kinko's (excuse me... FedEx Kinko's) copy a flyer that I had personally made to help promote tech-tonics.com in my neighborhood. I was planning on passing them out around my neighborhood on Wednesday, but I accidentally slept in a little too late (see why below, lol). Well, I guess it was a good thing that I didn't post them, because someone else posted flyers on people's doors around my neighborhood. I believe, had I posted my flyers and had those other flyers mixed with them... a large amount of people would have just ended up throwing both flyers away.

So, if I can get myself to get up early today, I'll be passing those flyers out...

Let's Go Get LOST

On Tuesday, I was finally able to check-out the first season of LOST. Oh man! It is very good! If you have not seen it, I suggest that you go rent it. So far, of what I have seen (I'm in the middle of watching episode 6 right now), it has that "Gilligan's Island", "The X-Files" and something else.... Oh, yeah!-- "The Blair Witch Project" feel to it.

I spent late Tuesday night until early Wednesday morning watching disc one. That is one reason I slept in late on Wednesday.

As I write this, I'm on disc two. And what stinks is I can't watch any new episodes (like the one that aired last night) until I finish the season and bit torrent the other episodes of season 2. But thank goodness that they are only 4 episodes into the season.

What's Going On?

You have probably noticed that I have not been up to much lately, like I was during the summer time. This is because I don't get out as much around this time of the year, and that there is not a lot for me to do. Well, I do try to get out as much as I can (this doesn't include work), but for some reason, I somehow always end up back home.

Well, I will try to keep it interesting here on my blog during this fall/winter season, even if I don't get out much...

Late Birthday Wish!

I just found out that it was Katrina's birthday this past week. She never told me her birth date... So, I'd like to wish her a late...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I would post how old she is, but I don't know that answer... So you are in the clear this time Katrina. ; )

Change In Website Names

No, not this one. My other site, voteforpedroonline.com. I went ahead and registered "napoleonstown.com". It still links to the same site, but if you are wondering why, then read this...

If Things Go Well, I Might Be Showing Her My 'O' Face

Last night, I went out and purchased the Office Space Extra Special Edition Exclusive DVD at Best Buy...

I know, I know, I know...

I know what I said earlier about Best Buy in an earlier entry, but this was only place I could buy this special DVD set. This is the reason why I cancelled my order through Amazon. I guess I need to start watching what I say before I post anything.
Well, had I gone through with ordering this re-release of Office Space though Amazon, I would have received only the DVD, and not the goodies that came along with the Special Edition package.

So what goodies came in this Extra Special Edition package... besides the Special Flair DVD?
- Mousepad
- Coffee Mug
- Magnet picture frame
- Notepad (TPS Report Sheet Cover... Mini version)
- Pen/Pencil
And my favorite... A Stapler (a special "Office Space" Red Swingline Stapler)

Finally! A stapler that I can call my own.

Finally Finished!

No, I'm not done posting pictures for good. It's just that I have finally finished posting any pictures that I took all the way back in September, especially the ones I took when I went up to Coalville. I guess, being sick around that time made me not feel it was important to hurry and get those pictures up... which caused me to forget about them period! Well, those pictures are now up and ready for viewing... Coalville, Utah & Evanston, Wyoming

I Steal Music From The Internet

This is why I love broadband/cable internet more than dial-up and DSL. I took this screen shot of how fast I was able to download this large audio clip the other night while using Kazaa Lite K++.

Now if you are saying, "But Ryan, if you use Kazaa (or any other P2P client), you are going to get into trouble with the RIAA!"

(_____) them! Here is a little fact that they don't want you to know... They only go after people who are sharing files, not the people who are downloading them. Still not convinced in going back to using P2P clients? Then try Bit Torrent... (Sorry, I'm not explaining how to figure out how to look for things to download.)

For A Good Laugh

You have probably read here on my blog entries that I work on computers. You might not know that I also work at a grocery store to help pay my monthly bills since I only get computer jobs from time to time. (You may know I work at a grocery store if you know me personally or if you have seen my name badge- lol.)

Well, I've been meaning to post a couple interesting facts about children that I have noticed while working at the store.

Number One-- In time of retrieving an object that the parent has told the child they can have, but must pay for first, the child can now actually become stronger than the parent trying to take that object away from them.
Interesting Fact... I will do the same thing when anyone is trying to get me out of a computer store.

Number Two-- We give and encourage our children any toy that has buttons and other object s/he can press to learn basic operating and development skills. However, when the child is sitting in the shopping cart, right in front of the debit/credit card machine that is located on every check stand, that machine is seen to the child as another toy to play with because it has actual buttons (not the new LCD screen pads like in other stores) and it makes a beeping noise when the button is pressed... and the child is punished for "playing" with a "toy". lol.

Sorry, You Have To Be A Member To Apply

I got the response from NUOMA on applying to be the webmaster-- You have to be a member of NUOMA (which is $15 to join, even if you don't own a Mustang) and you also have to 'nominate yourself' for the position you are willing to do.

Yeah right! I am never good with dealing with elections. Plus, pay $15 dollars to join just to do something that I wouldn't get paid for, and probably would not be able to become a "sponsor" if I did do this-- ???. No thank you...

Worst DVD Ever

I went and purchased Star Wars Episode III with the bonus disc like I said I would the other night from Wal-Mart.

All that bonus disc was is like the cliff notes to Episodes I, II, IV, V & VI. It had C-3PO (who did the dialog) and R2-D2 (who beeped like normal) telling about the story of Anikin Skywalker from Episodes I & II, and the story of Luke Skywalker from Episodes IV, V & VI.

It skipped Episode III since this DVD was recorded in 2004 and Episode III had not started filming or been finalized yet. Plus, you could tell it was recorded before the release of the DVD Trilogy pack that was released in late 2004, because it showed the original ending to Episode VI.

It Finally Happened

Well, I knew it would happen, but I just didn't know when it would happen.

...I finally lost a computer. Meaning, I wasn't able to fix a computer because something happened to a part that could not be replaced or fixed. Well, my record was (...Let me check my paper work records...) 18 service jobs on record. So, 17 out of 18 at the moment.

That Was A Close One, JoAnna!

I received this e-mail from JoAnna the other night. I would have gone off on her if I had not kept reading the e-mail. If anyone remembers me going off about these types of e-mails, you would have understood why I first got upset... But then started laughing as I kept reading it. This is what the e-mail said:

<-------------------------------start message-------------------------------="">

If you receive an email entitled "Bedtimes" delete it IMMEDIATELY. Do not open it. Apparently this one is pretty nasty. It will not only erase everything on your hard drive, but it will also delete anything on disks within 20 feet of your computer. It demagnetizes the stripes on ALL of your credit cards. It reprograms your ATM access code, screws up the tracking on your VCR, and uses subspace field harmonics to scratch any CD's you attempt to play. It will program your phone auto dial to call only 0898 numbers.

This virus will mix antifreeze into your fish tank.

IT WILL CAUSE YOUR TOILET TO FLUSH WHILE YOU ARE SHOWERING.

It will drink ALL your beer. FOR GOD'S SAKE, ARE YOU LISTENING??

It will leave dirty underwear on the coffee table when you are expecting company.

It will replace your shampoo with Nair and your Nair with Rogaine. If the "Bedtimes" message opened in a Windows 95/98 environment, it will leave the toilet seat up and leave your hair dryer plugged in dangerously close to a full bathtub. It will not only remove the forbidden tags from your mattresses and pillows, it will also refill your skim milk with whole milk.
WARN AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN.

And if you don't send this to 5,000 people in 20 seconds, you'll fart so hard that your right leg will spasm and shoot straight out in front of you, sending sparks that will ignite the person nearest you.

Send this warning to everyone!!! THERE'S A LOT OF SADNESS IN THE WORLD! Right now, as you read this, 17 Million people are having SEX!!! And look at you - you're on the computer!!!!

<-------------------------------end message-------------------------------="">

You are lucky I kept reading the e-mail JoAnna... The next person won't be so lucky!

Oh, and to calm anyone's fears who doesn't know... None of that can happen!

Quick Update

I added a little something to my main site, tech-tonics.com, just for the holidays. This is only until midnight, November 1st. Check it out...

It Took Me Like 3 Hours To Do His Upper Lip

Well, I don't know if it actually took me 3 hours to cut around the mouth area, but it sure felt like it. Like I said, I told you I was going to do it.

The only bad thing is, it took me around 5 hours to work on this pumpkin, in a 4-day time period. Since I cut around the eyes first, those have already started to dry out, and are starting to cave inward. So, that means I will have to possibly cut another one, or something similar right before Halloween. Since this one took a long time, I'll probably just end up doing the Liger cut-out.

Big thanks to Tristyn for helping me on the starting part of this grueling process.

Saying Goodbye

Well, it's time to part from some of my favorite things...

1 - My favorite energy drink Red Bull and any other energy drink made with Taurine. Why? Because I found out where Taurine was discovered from, and most likely still comes from...;

2 - My favorite website (to visit) digg.com. People are just posting useless junk (including myself) about technology on a technology website, only to hopefully get mentioned on the podcast show diggnation...;

3 - And the podcast diggnation, since it is related to digg.com...

Testing It Out Early

The other night when I was getting a few groceries, I remember that diggnation Episode #17 mentioned that certain Wal-Mart's around the country are allowing people to test out the new Microsoft XBox 360 in their stores before they are actually released to buy on November 22. So, to prove that it is out to the public to play with, and that I have seen and tested it out, I took a quick picture with my camera phone. Sorry about the quality. If I can get this girl that I know who works at Wal-Mart to allow me to take my digital camera in and take a better looking picture, I'll post that picture later.

I'm On a Roll With HTML

On Saturday afternoon, my father asked me if I would like to be the webmaster to the NUMOA (North Utah Mustang Owners Association) website since the webmaster now, I guess, has been slacking. I said I would do if I could post a link to tech-tonics.com (seeing how it is a non-profit organization and I'm not getting paid for it).

So as of now, I don't know if I have the job title yet, but I will hopefully find out in a few days. So lets keep those fingers crossed...

Busted!

Well, here is a fact that I wasn't out to prove... Dogs (especially my dog Snickers) love Napoleon Dynamite too!

Actually, they love and want whatever is leftover on the plate that is on top of desk that is in front of the monitor.

That Was Too Close...

I had the coolest idea for my website. But luckily, before I really got into working on it, someone helped me realize it was a bad idea.

I was going to add a section to this Ryan site called, "Ask Me...", where anyone could e-mail me a question, and I would post that question on the site and then right below that question would be the answer (it would most likely be a funny answer). But the very first question I had made me reconsider the whole idea because of what people would think of me and would probably stop getting visitors to my sites. So the plan to do that idea was quickly scratched.

Well, back to the drawing boards...

If you are wondering what the question was, it was, "Where do babies come from..." -- Now you can see why I killed this idea!

Hey JoAnna...

...I know that this is no surprise party.
...And I know that I can't give you a cake or presents (especially since I'm not there in person)...
But there is one thing that I can do. It is to let everyone know that...

IT IS JOANNA'S 21ST BIRTHDAY!!!!

I'm sorry I'm not there in California to help you celebrate. I just hope that you have a fun and adventurous birthday.

Guess Who I Sold A Poster To...?!

Remember those Napoleon Dynamite posters that I sold on eBay this past week? Well, I just happen to sell one of them to the man who made one of the original shirts seen in Napoleon Dynamite! Which shirt? ... It's the one with the helicopter logo printed on the front. If you are interested, you can visit his site where he sells these shirts: No Riders Shirts.

He also told me that "Jared Hess (the director of Napoleon Dynamite) tried to buy the Blue 206 shirt (?) last January. He instead sent a box load of the shirts to Jared and Munn Powell (the cinematographer of Napoleon Dynamite). He told him that there was something so wrong about selling him shirts after he put him in the movies."

Dude! ...This guy is honest! Go buy a shirt from him... He has more than one style of shirt, with the helicopter logo, and he has other great stuff too!

Even More For My Dollar!

I received an e-mail from my web server provider, Yahoo!, telling me that they have improved my plan for free! How sweet is that? So, I don't have to worry about wasting space or data on the web or on my server, or even falling short of space. Truthfully, I never did really reach the max amount, nor did I ever go over. Plus, they are giving me 200 e-mail addresses (from the original 25 when I signed up). Does anyone want another e-mail address with "@tech-tonics.com"?! Don't worry, I can tell it to send all your e-mail to anyone of your e-mail address (if you have more than one). For example... if someone used the address johndoe@tech-tonics.com, I can tell it to send it to the persons original e-mail address (for example) johndoe@hotmail.com. If you do, let me know. My e-mail link is on the main page of ryansharich.com.

Just e-mail me with this information...

1- What you would like the first part of your e-mail address to be: _____?______ @tech-tonics.com ;

2- What e-mail address would you like me have your mail sent to: (ie. johndoe@hotmail.com)

What Are You Going to Do Today, Napoleon...?

Answer the phone whenever I call her... Gosh!

JoAnna told me last night/early this morning that she downloaded a ring tone for her phone that says, "What are you going to do today, Napoleon?" / "Whatever I feel like I want to do-- Gosh!" whenever I call. Now, how sweet is that??? Very!

Son of a B**ch

Well, Apple finally released the new iPod that supports downloadable music videos and television shows, yesterday. It looks really neat. However, the only part that I wish they would have done is made it possible to upgrade my iPod (by software, not hardware) so that I too could watch videos on my iPod. Well, it looks like I am stuck with the one I have now... But I am not complaining that I can't watch videos. At least I have an iPod when I know people who don't have one, would love to have one. So, I should be grateful no matter what. :)

My Beer Is Really Talking To Me...

After finishing one of my Mikes Hard Lemonade late Tuesday night, I turned the bottle around and found something printed on the inner-label of my bottle. Check out the picture to see what it says. Hover you mouse pointer here to see what it says...

October 10, 2005

To prove to Tristyn that I do not waste all my time in front of my computer, or writing code for my websites--

I am going to do the following:
1) Everything on my "To Do" list (that I have listed on my PDA - 14 items);
2) Change the blue "s" on my car sticker to a white "s";
3) Read to page 714 (that is the end of chapter 16) of my A+ book (I am currently on page 423, middle of chapter 10);
4) Send those packages that those people won from me on eBay, to them (... I have to do this today anyways...);

So, until those are done, you can do the following... You can read my past blog entries. You know, to make sure you have caught up on things I have done this past summer : ). ... Or, check out my Photos page (for anyone who has never been to or seen what I have posted lately).

Until then, keep checking back here. You (and I) will never know when I am going to be back.

Two Down, Seven More to Go...

Well, the auction on those two ND poster ended on eBay yesterday. Only problem was, I was
hoping to make some money off of them. Like I said before in an early entry, I'll only post one poster/auction at a time. Poster #1 and Poster #2 both sold for $5.00 each.

Once I find the right kind of envelope and the amount of shipping, I will be posting my entire Maxim Magazine collection (minus issues #1 and #71. I was never was able to purchase #1, and I sold Brian #71.) So long girls...

October 9, 2005

I told Tristyn this when we were up in Evanston, WY a week or two ago... "I thought my life was pretty boring and plain, since I am on the computer a lot, until I realized how many different and exciting things I've done and places I have been too that I get to post on here."

Sometimes an iPod Is Just an iPod

I knew this day would come!!! Brian is finally getting an iPod! Welcome to the club Brian...

I know your beliefs on Apple and Macintosh's... But if you ever decide that you want to put an Apple logo sticker on your car, I'll be glad to give you one. If you want an Apple logo sticker with an "iPod user" sticker, just let me know.

I'm Becoming Mr. Popular on Napoleon Stuff

That is number two, about something that I have done in the world of Napoleon Dynamite, that has been posted on Napoleon Stuff. Not to brag, but I believe that I am the first person, outside of being involved with the movie... Oh, and other than the webmaster, that has had something posted twice on this site. SWEET!

First, back in August, I believe the webmasters name is Alan (If not, please let me know so I can apologize and fix this entry) posted some wonderful information about one of my other websites, "voteforpedroonline.com", which I re-copied and posted on my August 25th blog entry.

Then, I e-mailed him (I believe shortly after) I posted an entry on September 2nd, about the Easter Eggs that I discovered in the Official Napoleon Dynamite website HTML coding. I never heard back from him, so I thought that he simply dismissed it and took it as worthless information.

Well, something told me to just go to his site again since I have not checked it out in a while...

There it was! At the very top of the page, he posted information about how Halloween is coming up really soon and to check out the neat stuff from the Official ND website Easter Eggs that I found.

If you think that is all, just hidden information about Halloween... Just wait! There are two more holidays coming up: Thanksgiving and Holiday (Christmas)! So who knows... Maybe he will post more news about me, two more times. Seeing how I have these two postings already, that will still be sweet.

$90's Well Spent!

I headed in to Fast Sign on Friday around noon o'clock to have them put the sticker (that they custom made) onto the back window of my car. This is what it looks like... Only problem is, the blue "s", it disappears when my car is in the shade or in total darkness. So, I'm going to try a few things to fix that problem, or else I am going to have to go back in and have them make a white "s" instead so people don't go to tech-tonic.com instead...

Now, to play the waiting game...

However, since I placed that Apple logo sticker on the back of my car, I am also going to have to them make a sticker that says, "iPod user..." (...speaking of iPod, I have great news later on...). If anyone owns an iPod, and would like one, let me know. I'll probably have them made in a week.

"I've Never Done That In My Car..."

After having dinner with Tristyn Friday evening, we dragged State Street up and over to my work, and then back down it again. We ended up driving up Big Cottonwood Canyon. We drove all the way up to Brighton Ski Resort and then on the way back down, I turned onto the road that takes you onto Gardner's Pass. OMG! That road, from the very top until half way down, into Park City is bumpier then ... Well, I can't think of anything to compare how bad it was. It was so bumpy, that I was laughing the entire way down because it was freaking someone out... ;) I'm laughing thinking about it now...

Just Stick It!

I plan on heading in today to get the custom made sticker placed my car. So tomorrow, I will have a picture of what it looks like.

Just A Reminder

I know a lot of this stuff may not be very interesting to read, but please remember that I have been very busy doing other things. I hope that once things return to normal, I will be able to post some interesting things. Until then... Just keep visiting when you can. Thanks!

October 6, 2005

For those of you who do look at my Photos page, I had some time yesterday afternoon, that I FINALLY got around and finished posting the pictures from Peach Days that took place last month. Sorry for the delay.

October 5, 2005

Well, in a few days, and for the next few weeks that follow, I may not be posting a lot of blog entries on here as I have before. Something has come up in my family that will require the need for my help. Other than going to work, sleep and possibly doing my side job, I will be helping out around my house. If anyone has anything interesting (from the web or your own personal life) for world to see on here, please e-mail me... I finally placed an e-mail link on the home page now so you can easily contact me.

Good News and Bad News

The good news is that they called me yesterday to tell me that my car sticker is finished.

The bad news is that:
A) It had been raining off and on, so they wouldn't be able to place that sticker on it on Monday;
B) TracFone (the cell phone provider I had before I switched to Cricket) hasn't teamed up yet with Cricket to be able to allow it's users to "port" the telephone number they originally had to another provider. So not only do I have to re-do everything (business cards, web site, etc...) for my business to say I have a telephone number...
C) I now have to have some of the car sticker reprinted. Dang it! So that means that I will not be able to have the sticker finally placed onto my car until Thursday or Friday... And that is if the weather is good. ~Knock on wood~

Rule #2 With the Camera Phone

Never take scenery pictures with the camera phone. They end up looking blurry and terrible. My family and I went up into Little Cottonwood Canyon on Sunday afternoon, and I thought it would be fun to take some pictures with my new phone. I knew they were not professional looking (like a 35mm or digital camera), but I didn't realize they would be this bad. I deleted them all, but I did save one to show you how bad they come out. The picture on the right has been shrunk, click on it to get a larger and better look, to what I mean.

Am I not right? It looks like a scene, taken from the old videos of the 1960's. So that is what the 60's looked like-- A big blur, man.

Oh, Rule #1 is, "If you are going to take naughty pictures, make sure the person you send them too can keep them to themselves...". No, I haven't done anything bad. It just from things I have read and heard in the news that made me make that rule.

Finally...

After three days of being posted on eBay, someone finally placed a bid on Poster #2. I was hoping people would be outbidding each other for both of them. Maybe next time I should just post one at time. Then people will go after them... Who knows?

This Is Better Than the TiVo

Since I am getting that sticker placed on the back of my car with my cell phone number, I know I am going to be receiving a lot more phone calls (hopefully) for business. Therefore, on Friday, I purchased (and activated) a new cell phone from Cricket. I ended up purchasing the Audiovox 8910. It ... is... AWESOME!!! Only problem is, it does not have any games loaded onto (or ever will), and so far, I am having difficulty trying to send photos to my e-mail since this phone does not have the ability to connect by cable to any computer. So if anyone has my cell phone number, I will still have that-- so do not delete it or loose it! For now, my new number will be posted on the main tech-tonics.com web page until Monday afternoon (10/1/05-10/3/05). That way, if I post the new number here, it's going to stay here for good and I know someone will try calling that number in the future, but will most likely get someone else.

If I am successful on uploading those pictures to my e-mail address, I haven't decided if I am going to post them on my photos page.

[NOTE: I fixed the e-mailing pictures problem. For some reason, it will let me e-mail them to my secondary e-mail address, but not the other (main) e-mail address that I use. Oh, well. At least I can now get them off my phone to save them :) ]

Here Piggy, Piggy, Piggy...

Thanks Tristyn, for reminding me to post this entry...

Friday evening, on the way to cash my paycheck to buy my new cell phone, I was driving my car (with Tristyn riding shotgun) and we passed a cop who was driving the opposite direction. I happened to glance and to see a stuffed animal on his dashboard, but it did not really hit me with a connection until Tristyn asked, "Wait-- Did you see that, on that cops dashboard?" (or something along those lines)... And then I finally got the connection. LoL! This officer had placed a stuffed fuzzy pink pig on his dashboard. I was laughing twice as hard because the two of us, I should have been the one that would have said something before she did.

Only On eBay

Remember those Napoleon Dynamite posters I purchased at the Utah State Fair Park? Well, I placed two of them up for bids on eBay yesterday.

I also updated the main page to ryansharich.com. It now includes a link to items I am selling on eBay. Therefore, if anyone would ever like to see what I am selling, at any time, you can simply go to the front page and click on that link without having to search for the link through these blog entries...

Let Me Try It Again

Well, I went in to have that custom sticker made Thursday. It's actually going to cost less then what they told me last time. So, all I have to do is wait until they finish it, and call me up to come in to have it placed on my car. As soon as I get a picture of it, I will post that. Sweet! Since it is so cheap, maybe I can afford to have some more printed up. Double sweet!
