The T-Shirt My Sister Gave Me

I was trying to find on Christmas day, on the web, the t-shirt my sister gave me for Christmas. But, I had no success. Well, when I recently went to go put it on, the manufacture tag fell out of the shirt and it had the web site on it. Well, I went to the website and I think I found another shirt that I should purchase.

So, What Did I Get For Christmas?

Tristyn gave me my gift early (on 12/10). She gave me the new Sublime album and a iPod vent holder for my car.

JoAnna said my gift is on its way... (I hope this is what she said I was getting)

Brian, he helped me get my network up and running. I now have all three computers connected in my house. Sweet!

My sister gave me a t-shirt that said, "Don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day."

On my moms' side of the family, I received a gift card to Wal-Mart.

On my dads' side of the family, I received a Texas Hold'em Poker set that you use the TV to play along with.

Then, on Christmas morning I got a Napoleon Dynamite talking doll, Season 5 of Seinfeld, three gift cards, a 3 ft tube of licorice (each licorice piece is 3 feet long!), new bed sheets, Star Wars PEZ Collector's Set (which, I will never open), socks, under-roo's, clip on visor mirror ("CAUTION: Do not install near or on air bags." ... Errr!).... Um... That's pretty much all I got.

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

I wish everyone the best today. Hope you got what you asked for. If not, remember, there will be something better next year (unless it was an antique that you were asking for).

I also hope that you ate your fiber like I told you to do yesterday...? If you didn't, that's okay... I forgot to as well.

I was originally going to use the picture on the right as the picture in my holiday greeting card picture (for customers for my business, and some others), but with everyone I told it to, no one seemed to get it until I told them what it meant. So I never had the cards made.

Although this is not an actual picture of MY keyboard, it is starting to look like it. (That is how I got the idea.) Can anyone guess what it is suppose to say? (Sorry if I have already told you what the answer is...)

I'll post what I got for Christmas, on tomorrows entry... Happy Holidays!

It's a Festivus Miracle!

All though I don't actually celebrate Festivus, I do recognize this holiday when it rolls around every year.

If you are asking yourself, "What the heck is Festivus?!", you had to of watched a little show called Seinfeld. It was big in the 1990's. You might not remember it. ANYWAYS! I can't explain everything and how this holiday works, but if you want to read the rules and it's origin, visit Wikipedia: Festivus.

'That's quite a pole you have there, Frank!

Hey Everybody...

IT IS SHEILA'S BIRTHDAY!!!!

Be sure to wish her a Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday Mom!!!

Double Sweet!

Back in June, when I went up to the Napoleon Dynamite Festival, I purchased an ornament that looks like the "Vote for Pedro" t-shirt. Well, I forgot to tell my mother that I had already purchased my Christmas ornament, so she went out and bought me the Darth Vader ornament! Sweet! So Darth and the t-shirt ornament are now hanging on the tree...

3rd Saturday of Every December

On the third Saturday of every December, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (3401 Highland Dr. Salt Lake City, UT 84106), and I am quoting from their web site here, "honors loved ones who have passed away with a Luminary of over 10,000 candles placed throughout the cemetery."

(Luminary means, A person who is an inspiration to others... I had to look it up myself)

So, every year, my family and I (not together these past couple of years) drive through the cemetery (as well as hundreds of other people) after the sun has set, to look at the lights.

For those of you who don't know, my sister passed away on December 18th, 1999 to ovarian cancer. This is where she was laid to rest.

Sunday, Freakin' Cold Sunday

On Sunday (12/11), my family and I headed up to the Utah Olympic Park in Park City to take a couple of simple family photographs to send to my nephew in Arizona.

However, while up there, they had a few displays outside the main visitors center that showed who won what (medals), and in what category they won them in. One of them was Tristan Gale. She won Gold in the Woman's Skeleton.

Now, the reason why I bring her up is because of bragging rights... I actually went to school with her. That is all. (lol)

I Can Partially Read It, But Can't Write That

Last Friday (12/2), I drove down to the Orem CompUSA store to get some new earbuds (what the iPod earphones are called). On my way home, I saw this billboard ad (right after the Lindon exit). It took me a second to realize what it was, but once it hit my brain, I finally understood what it said.

If I am correct, I believe this is JavaScript. However, I do recognize the cout << "Now Hiring" >> endl; part. I used that style of code when I wrote a program in C++.

Anyone want to take a guess at what it is saying...?

Monday, December 12, 2005

Hey Everybody...

IT IS SKIDZ 21st BIRTHDAY!!!!

Be sure to wish him a Happy 21st! May you get drunk, and prosper! (just kidding, dude...)

Brian, I hope you didn't mind that I took this picture from your profile on My Space, but this is the only cool picture that I could find of you...

Attention Super Saver Shoppers!

If anyone was shopping at the Rose Park Super Saver store on December 5, 2005, between the hours of 5PM and 7PM, and found a beanie matching the picture description to the right, please leave the beanie where it is, do nothing about it and keep on walking by.

Okay, here is the deal on why I posted this. Someone really did lose their beanie during that time mentioned above. However, the guy who lost it, apparently wanted us (the employees) to make "Lost" fliers for it. Had his head been attached to his body when he lost it... Yeah, let's not go there...

Photo Booth... Andy Warhol Style

On Thursday (12/1), I had to return an item at CompUSA. But since I had some time to kill before I actually had to head into work, I started messing around with the new iMac.

The new iMac has the webcam (iSight) built right into the computer itself. Well, they happen to write a pretty cool program called Photo Booth. Well, since I was messing around with the computer, I found the actual photo file (which was a bitch to find-- thank goodness for Spotlight) and e-mailed my photo that I took on the computer, to myself. Not the best photo in the world, but you get the idea of creative styles that you can mess around with, just to have your taken with the program.

Then on Friday (12/2), I went back in to take a better Photo Booth picture. That one, you can see as my main picture when you visit ryansharich.com.

If This House is a Rockin'...!

If you thought some twinkling lights and a lawn Santa Claus would win "Best Lighting Design" to your house in your neighborhood tournament, check this video out. I bet that the neighbors next to this guy must hate him for what he did. How this guy did it, I don't know...

Thanks TJ for showing me this video!

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

I just would like to wish everyone the very best today!

What am I thankful for...?

- All the computer repair business that I have received over the past year!
- Those that kept me going when things seemed down...
- That I don't have to work today!
- Everyone who reads my blog (and all those who have visited any or all of my web sites)

(My favorite part of Thanksgiving, the pumpkin pie... Oh, yeah!)

Hey Everybody...

IT IS TRISTYN'S 23RD BIRTHDAY!!!!

If you know her... Be sure to wish her a Happy Birthday!!!

Monday, November 21, 2005

Good Luck, Katrina!

For safety reasons, I can't tell everyone exactly where she is going to work...

I wanted to write about this on Saturday, but you read why earlier...

I just want to wish Katrina the best at her new job. She is no longer going to be working with me at Super Saver. Well, the new place you are at, I wish you the best of luck and hope that you have a fun time there. It was great to get to know you, especially while we were at Van Winkle.

Oh, and thanks for spotting me on the Jumbo-Tron at the Jazz game a few years back. That made me, acting like a fool on the Jumbo-Tron, worth it. LoL.

Home...

Well, where to start about my trip on Thursday and Friday...

THURSDAY
Let see, Tristyn woke me up early again on Thursday. Well, it was early to me. I went to bed very late because I was up most of Wednesday night/Thursday early morning re-working the HTML code and design on my tech-tonics.com website. It has more than just one page now. I have it looking like the way I had it a few months ago, but not so complicated this time. Check it out! Sorry, no Santa hat on the M of .com... Yet... I'll wait until after Thanksgiving.

Well, I finally got up around 11:30AM and started to get ready to leave. Before I could leave town, I had to ship a package to someone in New York who finally bid on and won the pack of cards that I placed on eBay three, four weeks ago. I didn't make a profit on it. I just ended up making back the money it took to place it on eBay 3 or 4 times.

I then went and picked Tristyn up and we headed to my work to pick up my paycheck. Cashed it and headed up to Brigham City. We had to stop at the Wal-Mart in Brigham City because I needed get some socks. lol. We then continued on up through Sardine Canyon, up on through Logan into Franklin, Idaho. We had to stop at La Tienda to cash our previous winning lotto tickets. After that, we drove on into Preston, Idaho. We decided two things when we drove into town. One, we will drive up on into Pocatello, Idaho to spend the night there, and two, we will stop and eat at Big J Burger in Preston before heading up on through to Pocatello.

We finished eating and headed on up into Pocatello. Just a bit of advice... When traveling on lone roads and you are listening to your iPod, have another person change the song or artist or whatever function for you. If Tristyn didn't say anything, I would have rolled my car because a turn came out of no where while I was looking down at my iPod.

We had to stop really quick in Downey, Idaho at the Shell Gas station. That is a must when visiting that part of Idaho. After Downey, I kept driving north to Pocatello. When we arrived to Pocatello, I got off the first exit and started driving around Pocatello to find a place to stay. Ugh! Trying to find your way around there is a nightmare. Well, we finally found a Holiday Inn (that was the best looking hotel/motel up there) and registered to stay there for the night. Unloaded my car of our luggage and then we headed to the store to get some alcohol.

While we were drinking (in the room), we watched Golden Girls. I haven't watched that show in YEARS! After that was over, we found something on HBO about the Adult Video Industry. Did you know that there is an award show for these things? And also, the porn that Andy tries to watch in "The 40 Year Old Virgin" called, "Space Nuts" (a mock of Star Wars), is an actual porn video. It won best comedy in porn. LoL!

After that watching that show on HBO, Tristyn and I tried to straighten up our act to walk down to the gas station near the hotel, but failed every time because every minute we were cracking each other up because of how stupid we were acting. We first has to stop by the lobby of our hotel and use the internet on the complimentary computer. That's sad. Even on vacation, I can't get away from a computer.

We came back to the room and I partied some more. Now I see why I shouldn't drink anymore... I opened my "vault". I am not going to say what I talked about, just that I need to express myself and talk more often when normal.

After getting that personal stuff off my chest, Tristyn soon after fell asleep and I stayed up drinking more and watched an episode of Frasier.

I did exactly the one thing that I wanted to do on this trip... I got wasted. Well, because of me doing that, I know it's not best for me to drink anymore because of how bad I was in the morning.

FRIDAY
How bad did it get? ... I won't get into the full details, but Tristyn had to drive us home. She found it kind of funny that whenever we take her car, I always drive (95% of the time) and she will rest when I drive. This time, we took my car and she drove home while I slept. So, the car ride home was a blur because I slept.

When we got back to Salt Lake, we came to my house and we both crashed (me some more). Later, I had gotten enough strength back to take Tristyn home. Also, I could finally eat something and could keep it down.

Later Friday night, Tristyn came back over to my house. We then drove to my work because we had to drop off some "presents".

Well, one thing is for sure. No more alcohol. I've had my fun. Now it's time to get back to being serious again.

I know that young people, like my brother, read this blog. I just want to say that alcohol is not the way to go. There are other and much better things you could be doing...

Busy, Busy Day...

Well, yesterday, I had a busy day.

First, Tristyn woke me up much earlier than I normally get up. But after getting ready and then leaving my house, we first stopped off at the library to pick up some CD's. I finally have a Kiss and Grateful Dead album now. Sweet! I say "album", meaning one album a piece.

Then, we quickly stopped at Jason's Deli to get me something for my breakfast (even though it was after noon o'clock by the time we got there). We then headed out to the Gateway Plaza because she wanted to visit The Living Planet Aquarium. Well, before we headed in to check that out, we stopped in at Borders and I bought three computer books. One of them is about PHP.

PHP is a computer language that is used in web pages. So if I actually completely read this entire book, and figure out how to write in PHP, many of you who actually read my blog will be able to write your comments and opinions about any of my future blog entries. You have a voice to, and I would like to hear... I mean, read, what you have to say about what I write. So, hopefully I can get that figured out.

Sorry, back to my story. I bought those 3 books and then we headed to and checked out the aquarium. It was interesting. However, I believe the Aquarium of the Bay on Pier 39 in San Francisco is much better because they have a tank you can look up and see creatures of the sea [PICTURE].

Well, after checking out the aquarium, we officially had lunch at the California Pizza Kitchen. They still know how to make a pizza. Their food is so good, I'm craving a pizza right now as I write this, the style of pizza that we ate. Good thing they make and sell this style of pizza in stores. This stuff is addicting like crack... Mmm-hmm!

After eating, we walked over to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and I purchased some Sea Foam. Never tried it? Well... Go! Try it! We left Gateway and headed to the dollar movies. I was able to finally see The 40-Year-Old Virgin. It is a good movie, but nothing beats Napoleon Dynamite. And yes, I did notice the MST3K:TM poster that I mentioned earlier..

After the movie, came home and started packing for Idaho. I then remembered that I have a blog to write, so here I am. Plus, I'm only going up for the night, so I don't need to pack much.

Well, see you all on Saturday!

Saturday, November 12, 2005

Hello, World!

Well, thanks to JoAnna, I signed up for an account on MySpace. As of now, I'm trying to change the coding to get it so anyone can read my blog here instead of me posting another one there.

Although I just created the account, I am not planning to post a lot on there. I'm going to keeping my blog here, and keeping this web page updated more than on there.

Dang it! Because I've been messing around with that, I am missing precious moments with catching up on Lost.

It Was a Stroll Down Memory Lane

Well, I walked around my neighborhood and passed out flyers yesterday, and it felt weird. I haven't walked up to each house in my neighborhood like that since I was in the 6-8th grade, because of Halloween. Oh well, not time for sweets. It time to start letting people know I am out there and ready to do business.

Thursday, November 10, 2005

Let's Hope This Works

I had Tuesday and Wednesday off. On Tuesday, I had Kinko's (excuse me... FedEx Kinko's) copy a flyer that I had personally made to help promote tech-tonics.com in my neighborhood. I was planning on passing them out around my neighborhood on Wednesday, but I accidentally slept in a little too late (see why below, lol). Well, I guess it was a good thing that I didn't post them, because someone else posted flyers on people's doors around my neighborhood. I believe, had I posted my flyers and had those other flyers mixed with them... a large amount of people would have just ended up throwing both flyers away.

So, if I can get myself to get up early today, I'll be passing those flyers out...

Late Birthday Wish!

I just found out that it was Katrina's birthday this past week. She never told me her birth date... So, I'd like to wish her a late...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I would post how old she is, but I don't know that answer... So you are in the clear this time Katrina. ; )

Sorry, You Have To Be A Member To Apply

I got the response from NUOMA on applying to be the webmaster-- You have to be a member of NUOMA (which is $15 to join, even if you don't own a Mustang) and you also have to 'nominate yourself' for the position you are willing to do.

Yeah right! I am never good with dealing with elections. Plus, pay $15 dollars to join just to do something that I wouldn't get paid for, and probably would not be able to become a "sponsor" if I did do this-- ???. No thank you...

It Finally Happened

Well, I knew it would happen, but I just didn't know when it would happen.

...I finally lost a computer. Meaning, I wasn't able to fix a computer because something happened to a part that could not be replaced or fixed. Well, my record was (...Let me check my paper work records...) 18 service jobs on record. So, 17 out of 18 at the moment.

Testing It Out Early

The other night when I was getting a few groceries, I remember that diggnation Episode #17 mentioned that certain Wal-Mart's around the country are allowing people to test out the new Microsoft XBox 360 in their stores before they are actually released to buy on November 22. So, to prove that it is out to the public to play with, and that I have seen and tested it out, I took a quick picture with my camera phone. Sorry about the quality. If I can get this girl that I know who works at Wal-Mart to allow me to take my digital camera in and take a better looking picture, I'll post that picture later.

It Took Me Like 3 Hours To Do His Upper Lip

Well, I don't know if it actually took me 3 hours to cut around the mouth area, but it sure felt like it. Like I said, I told you I was going to do it.

The only bad thing is, it took me around 5 hours to work on this pumpkin, in a 4-day time period. Since I cut around the eyes first, those have already started to dry out, and are starting to cave inward. So, that means I will have to possibly cut another one, or something similar right before Halloween. Since this one took a long time, I'll probably just end up doing the Liger cut-out.

Big thanks to Tristyn for helping me on the starting part of this grueling process.

I'm On a Roll With HTML

On Saturday afternoon, my father asked me if I would like to be the webmaster to the NUMOA (North Utah Mustang Owners Association) website since the webmaster now, I guess, has been slacking. I said I would do if I could post a link to tech-tonics.com (seeing how it is a non-profit organization and I'm not getting paid for it).

So as of now, I don't know if I have the job title yet, but I will hopefully find out in a few days. So lets keep those fingers crossed...

Busted!

Well, here is a fact that I wasn't out to prove... Dogs (especially my dog Snickers) love Napoleon Dynamite too!

Actually, they love and want whatever is leftover on the plate that is on top of desk that is in front of the monitor.

Tuesday, October 18, 2005

Hey JoAnna...

...I know that this is no surprise party.
...And I know that I can't give you a cake or presents (especially since I'm not there in person)...
But there is one thing that I can do. It is to let everyone know that...

IT IS JOANNA'S 21ST BIRTHDAY!!!!

I'm sorry I'm not there in California to help you celebrate. I just hope that you have a fun and adventurous birthday.

Guess Who I Sold A Poster To...?!

Remember those Napoleon Dynamite posters that I sold on eBay this past week? Well, I just happen to sell one of them to the man who made one of the original shirts seen in Napoleon Dynamite! Which shirt? ... It's the one with the helicopter logo printed on the front. If you are interested, you can visit his site where he sells these shirts: No Riders Shirts.

He also told me that "Jared Hess (the director of Napoleon Dynamite) tried to buy the Blue 206 shirt (?) last January. He instead sent a box load of the shirts to Jared and Munn Powell (the cinematographer of Napoleon Dynamite). He told him that there was something so wrong about selling him shirts after he put him in the movies."

Dude! ...This guy is honest! Go buy a shirt from him... He has more than one style of shirt, with the helicopter logo, and he has other great stuff too!

My Beer Is Really Talking To Me...

After finishing one of my Mikes Hard Lemonade late Tuesday night, I turned the bottle around and found something printed on the inner-label of my bottle. Check out the picture to see what it says. Hover you mouse pointer here to see what it says...

October 9, 2005

I told Tristyn this when we were up in Evanston, WY a week or two ago... "I thought my life was pretty boring and plain, since I am on the computer a lot, until I realized how many different and exciting things I've done and places I have been too that I get to post on here."

Sometimes an iPod Is Just an iPod

I knew this day would come!!! Brian is finally getting an iPod! Welcome to the club Brian...

I know your beliefs on Apple and Macintosh's... But if you ever decide that you want to put an Apple logo sticker on your car, I'll be glad to give you one. If you want an Apple logo sticker with an "iPod user" sticker, just let me know.

Friday, October 7, 2005

$90's Well Spent!

I headed in to Fast Sign on Friday around noon o'clock to have them put the sticker (that they custom made) onto the back window of my car. This is what it looks like... Only problem is, the blue "s", it disappears when my car is in the shade or in total darkness. So, I'm going to try a few things to fix that problem, or else I am going to have to go back in and have them make a white "s" instead so people don't go to tech-tonic.com instead...

Now, to play the waiting game...

However, since I placed that Apple logo sticker on the back of my car, I am also going to have to them make a sticker that says, "iPod user..." (...speaking of iPod, I have great news later on...). If anyone owns an iPod, and would like one, let me know. I'll probably have them made in a week.

"I've Never Done That In My Car..."

After having dinner with Tristyn Friday evening, we dragged State Street up and over to my work, and then back down it again. We ended up driving up Big Cottonwood Canyon. We drove all the way up to Brighton Ski Resort and then on the way back down, I turned onto the road that takes you onto Gardner's Pass. OMG! That road, from the very top until half way down, into Park City is bumpier then ... Well, I can't think of anything to compare how bad it was. It was so bumpy, that I was laughing the entire way down because it was freaking someone out... ;) I'm laughing thinking about it now...

Rule #2 With the Camera Phone

Never take scenery pictures with the camera phone. They end up looking blurry and terrible. My family and I went up into Little Cottonwood Canyon on Sunday afternoon, and I thought it would be fun to take some pictures with my new phone. I knew they were not professional looking (like a 35mm or digital camera), but I didn't realize they would be this bad. I deleted them all, but I did save one to show you how bad they come out. The picture on the right has been shrunk, click on it to get a larger and better look, to what I mean.

Am I not right? It looks like a scene, taken from the old videos of the 1960's. So that is what the 60's looked like-- A big blur, man.

Oh, Rule #1 is, "If you are going to take naughty pictures, make sure the person you send them too can keep them to themselves...". No, I haven't done anything bad. It just from things I have read and heard in the news that made me make that rule.

This Is Better Than the TiVo

Since I am getting that sticker placed on the back of my car with my cell phone number, I know I am going to be receiving a lot more phone calls (hopefully) for business. Therefore, on Friday, I purchased (and activated) a new cell phone from Cricket. I ended up purchasing the Audiovox 8910. It ... is... AWESOME!!! Only problem is, it does not have any games loaded onto (or ever will), and so far, I am having difficulty trying to send photos to my e-mail since this phone does not have the ability to connect by cable to any computer. So if anyone has my cell phone number, I will still have that-- so do not delete it or loose it! For now, my new number will be posted on the main tech-tonics.com web page until Monday afternoon (10/1/05-10/3/05). That way, if I post the new number here, it's going to stay here for good and I know someone will try calling that number in the future, but will most likely get someone else.

If I am successful on uploading those pictures to my e-mail address, I haven't decided if I am going to post them on my photos page.

[NOTE: I fixed the e-mailing pictures problem. For some reason, it will let me e-mail them to my secondary e-mail address, but not the other (main) e-mail address that I use. Oh, well. At least I can now get them off my phone to save them :) ]

Here Piggy, Piggy, Piggy...

Thanks Tristyn, for reminding me to post this entry...

Friday evening, on the way to cash my paycheck to buy my new cell phone, I was driving my car (with Tristyn riding shotgun) and we passed a cop who was driving the opposite direction. I happened to glance and to see a stuffed animal on his dashboard, but it did not really hit me with a connection until Tristyn asked, "Wait-- Did you see that, on that cops dashboard?" (or something along those lines)... And then I finally got the connection. LoL! This officer had placed a stuffed fuzzy pink pig on his dashboard. I was laughing twice as hard because the two of us, I should have been the one that would have said something before she did.

Only On eBay

Remember those Napoleon Dynamite posters I purchased at the Utah State Fair Park? Well, I placed two of them up for bids on eBay yesterday.

I also updated the main page to ryansharich.com. It now includes a link to items I am selling on eBay. Therefore, if anyone would ever like to see what I am selling, at any time, you can simply go to the front page and click on that link without having to search for the link through these blog entries...

September 24, 2005

Since I am still feeling not very well, I am not going to post much for today.

I just want to mention that Tristyn and I did go up to Coalville, UT and Evanston, WY on Thursday. I should be posting those few pictures that I did take (while sick and in the passenger seat) up on my Photo page, just as soon as I finish putting up the Peach Days pictures... Which by the way, I did update that page. Sadly, the number of pictures that I already have posted, I have that same amount to put up on that page... UGH!!! It's never ending.

Also, if anyone who personally knows me and reads this early enough, we are having another yard/garage sale today until 3 or 4PM. Just call me to get directions.

Well, that's all for me today. Hopefully, I'll be feeling better by later tonight. That way, I can look for more interesting stuff to post. Remember, I said, "Hopefully...".

That Is Way Too Many People

Last week, my father and a few other relatives went up through Wyoming, into South Dakota to visit Mount Rushmore. On the way up there, they saw this sign about the town of Lost Springs, Wyoming. But on the way back, they stopped and took a picture of the sign. I wonder who that person is?

What a Way to Spend One of My Days Off...

Lately, I have been feeling like crap. Today, I woke up to feel even worse. Then, around 3PM it started raining like mad outside. Later, I went downstairs to get something to eat out of the freezer, but saw this "little" mess. With the help of my brother, his friend, my sister and Tristyn, we were able to clean it in less than an hour. Except, after cleaning it up, I felt very tired because of the way I felt.

Construction Inside the Old Food 4 Less on Van Winkle...

I drove past the building on Van Winkle yesterday morning, to see what they have done to the building since I noticed they are now going to turn that entire building/section into a Gold's Gym. Well, I posted on an earlier blog, a picture of the outside of what was going on earlier.

But what about the inside...?

Well check the pictures out for yourself. It's kind of neat to see what was once Food 4 Less the grocery store, is now going to be something completely different inside. I didn't think it would be possible. That was probably because of all the yellow paint.

This is looking at what use to be the middle aisle, towards what was also the back receiving area...

This is looking towards what was once the frozen section...

This is looking towards where the check stands #1 and #2 use to be...

Guess Where I Went to Last Night... Again?

No, not Preston, Idaho. I meant after I got off of work around 8PM. No! I already said, 'not Preston'... Gosh! My work was handing out $2.00 admission tickets to the Utah State Fair that were good only for Sunday night, and so I took one and went to the fair again (yes, alone this time-- Sorry, no pictures this time). It was much more busier last night than Tuesday night, mainly because Sunday night was the last night of the fair. Well, the only reason I went again was to buy some more of those Napoleon Dynamite posters, you know, like the one I bought the other night. Well, I was planning on buying $100.00 worth (20 count, and no I am not crazy...) to sell on eBay. I know that fans of the movie will want one since it will be a scarce item. But since it was the last night, they only had 9 left. So I bought those remaining posters and grabbed a bunch of Fair event hand booklets -- Crap! That reminds me, I need to change the coding on my ND website... One sec. -- Done and done. Where was I? Oh yeah, since I never spent all the money that I was playing to originally pay for those, I thought, "Why not get a window decal sticker of tech-tonics.com to put on my cars' back window?" (since they had a booth to have custom made stickers/signs made while at the fair.) Since I had the money, I thought, what the hey?! So I only spent around 1/4 of what I would have to of paid if I had a local sign shop make one for me. That way, incase my car does not last much longer (knock on wood), I wouldn't have wasted all that money. I plan on cleaning my car, and then to put that sticker on later today. So I will post a picture of what it looks like. Sweet! Lets just hope I don't screw it up while putting it on...

Is Albertsons Ready To Call It Quits?

I've been told by two people today that they have read an article in the Salt Lake Tribune saying that Albertsons is possibly planning on selling the company. This is not good news. If this does happen, I may have to stop repairing computer with my personal side-job/company "tech-tonics.com" and hopefully get hired at CompUSA. Hopefully I won't have to...

I Went to the Sescent... The Sussenti... The Suscent.... Dang it! The 150th Utah State Fair

Tristyn and I went to the Utah State Fair last night. It was pretty cool. We got to see the last 10 minutes of Carrot Top's act since he was performing at the Pepsi Grandstand. Saw the animals and got complimented 4 times on my t-shirt. Not criticized, complimented!!! I need to start wearing that more often... lol. Oh, and I got the sweetest poster of Napoleon Dynamite looking at a chicken. I just need to find a frame for it though. As soon as I can scan it, I'll post the picture. It's really sweet!

Peach Days 2005

Okay, since I have a couple hours to kill before I have to start getting ready for work, I will tell you about what happened up in Brigham City and Franklin, Idaho on Saturday.

Tristyn and I finally left SLC around noon and didn't get up to Brigham City around 1:30PM. We were lucky to find a parking space in the Smith's (Food and Drug) parking lot since that place gets too crowded. FYI- It's always best to car pool with as many people as you can if you ever go up to Peach Days. We walked along (State Hwy 13) Main Street where many of the people were. We then started walking west on West Forest Street to get to the car show, which was being held at Walkins Park. This street had the most people on it since the City of Fun Carnival (just like the one in Nephi, back in July) was on that street. The whole time we started from where my car was parked, to the car show at the park, both Tristyn and I had to carry our personal belongings, a folding chair, and a blanket. Plus, on top of that, while we were walking along W. Forest St., they had many food stands to get something to eat. So, here we are carrying all that personal stuff, as well as also trying to carry and eat the food we bought along the way to the park. But we made it.

Well, after getting to the car show, we found where my fathers car was, and sat down and chatted for a while. We then got up and started to walk around and look at all the cars. Spent a good hour doing that. I think that is the first time that I have actually went and looked at every single car at a car show. Well, lets just say, the first on record. I almost didn't get pictures of the 2nd half of the car show because the batteries in my camera died really quickly. Guess I better buy some rechargeable batteries since I know they last longer than normal batteries, and can be reused. But Tristyn had an extra set of rechargeable batteries, and I was able to get most of the pictures for the Photo page.

After looking at the cars, we decided it was time to go up to Idaho. So we packed back up all our belongings on our backs and headed back to the car. But before we headed up to Idaho, we had to stop and pick up so peaches. We stopped at this large fruit stand (more like a no-walled house!) across from Maddox Restaurant and picked up a bushel of peaches. If that place had more of a selection and being a vegetarian, I would have thought I was in heaven. But they only had the major selections of fruits and vegetables.

Well, off to Idaho we went. Even though we had to deal with rain and cloudiness at the car show, it got worse the farther north we drove. So we took the normal route up 89/91 and stopped at La Tienda. I found out why they only were allowing 7 drawings back in August. Turns out, they were adding more numbers to the Powerball and after every drawing (from when I found out last time), they would lower the number of drawings. So now, they are back up to 10. Sweet!

After getting Powerball tickets and played a few scratch games, we headed back to Salt Lake. But we also stopped off at Big J Burger to get dinner. Man I love that place. And this time, they were not playing Napoleon Dynamite on their TV's that they have there.

Well, until next year/summer, looks like the fun is dying down for the year. Well, come on Summer of '06! Get here now! OH! I almost forgot. I will be driving up to Coalville, UT, possibly on up into Evanston, WY too, on the 20th of this month.
