Should of Thought of Something Else

I believe this was the second time I (along with Tristyn) drove up to Preston, Idaho (according to the set of pictures on my hard drive) in April of last year. While on the way up there, I saw this bus. I started busting up laughing because of the first two words they chose to call the bus line.

If you do not get it, or have never heard the joke, click here...

See, I Care

I had to work on Wednesday, so the first thing I do was buy a shamrock for a $1, wrote my new web address on it and hung it up in check stand 1. Not only did it possibly help folks see the web address (how's it going folks!), but whenever I asked folks if they would like to buy a shamrock, I would just point to it. It helped, I sold 58 of them in a six hour shift.

Sorry about the quality of the picture, but I had to take it with my cell phone when I went into work on Thursday to pick up my paycheck.

As for the stains on the yellow backdrop... That is from tape. We really need to clean that up. (lol)

For Those Who Ponder

Well, here another one of JoAnna's questions...

"Do you have any phobias and if so what are they?"
I do not suffer from claustrophobia if it were to happen right away, but if I am in a room or place where people are just crowded around me for a long time period of time (say 30 minutes to an hour), I will start to feel like I am suffering from claustrophobia. As long as keep moving around, I will feel okay.

Other than that, I really don't have any. I mean, lets go over some of the basic fears that some people suffer and my P.O.V....
Heights-- I have worked on a roof top before, so nothing there.
Snakes-- As long as they are not poisonous, or are not the kind that can choke you... I'll hold and pet snakes...
Spiders-- Same with snakes, not poisonous, I'll hold them... (If I don't know what kind it is and it's not caged, I will trap and kill it.)
Flying-- I think people have a fear of flying because they can't see what's in front of them, and have no control of what the pilot is going to do...

Okay, I can think of one... But every man here has this phobia... Commitment. lol

And The Winner Is...?

Can I get some fanfare? ...(Trumpets)

The new URL is... "slcblogger.com"! So, if you choose to type this into the web address, it will take you straight to the main page of the blog. So you can now use this instead of going to the main page and then to the blog.

Although I only had 3 votes, including my vote, this slcblogger.com was picked on every single vote...

Did You Know...?

Well, here another one of JoAnna's questions...

"What is one or more things that people don't know about you that you want them to know?"

- As much as I want a Mac, I may have to end up getting a notebook PC for my business... I may get a Mac Mini instead for desktop later on. Who knows...
- I'm sorry if I have seemed uptight lately. Just, this month has not been such a good month for me.
- I hate people who don't speak a smidgen or single word of English, and expect Americans to adapt to them.
- It irritates me when a woman doesn't shave or wax.... her upper lip. (shudder)
- It also irritates me when a woman plucks her eye brows, and then paints them back on... (I mean, I don't mind if they pluck it so that they do not have a uni-brow or pluck a few hairs to make it not look like a bushy caterpillar... But not the whole thing!)
- It pisses me off that I am always the first one blamed for anything that anyone could have done around my household. I can't remember if I have mentioned this before... But I'm sick of it!
- As much as I like to drink (alcohol), with me taking medication, my body (and mind) can not handle it. I can drink like ever great once in a while... But that is it.
- Most of the time, I do not like to be touched.
- I have not smoked weed since November 2003.
- I do or say stupid things or act stupid, just to get a laugh when someone is down or needs a laugh.
- I sometimes have to make a comment or come-back to almost anything stupid that I happen to be watching... ala MST3K.
- I use to tape TV shows before I got into computers. I have over 200+ VHS tapes full of episodes sitting in my basement. Good thing I stopped because most of those shows are being released onto DVD's!
- I wish I could think of something that could have made me a lot of money by inventing, creating or started...
- I have a tint of orange in both of my iris'.
- I believe in Karma.
- I do not like people who chew gum... And it irritates me a lot more if they are chewing it with their mouth open!
- I can not stand the smell (let alone taste) of Root Beer. I had sleeping gas when I was 6 and I have not been able to stand it ever since.
- I have been hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee before. I'm not talking car to car accident, I'm talking car to mountain bike accident here.
- Yes, it's true. If you refresh the main pages to ryansharich.com and napoleonstown.com, the title picture will change.
- I have read some and tried some of my PHP coding book. I think I will stick with HTML for a bit longer. There is too much to write for so little output.
- I hate the taste of peanut butter mixed into anything (candy, cookies...), except for PB&J sandwiches.
- I hate tabloids. I am so sick of hearing/reading about some actor/actress doing this or that... I have my own life to worry about. I believe that anyone who likes to read those has no life of their own, and has to pretend that they are part of this celebrities' life...
- If I ever leave my job for something much better, I am going to play "Take This Job and Shove It" over the P.A. system. (I'll post a entry, when and if that day were to ever arrive...)
- Yes, I realize that I post a lot of personal issues on this blog. But if I didn't, I believe that I wouldn't be able to express myself as much.
- I do not mind if anyone calls me "Beavis". I will actually respond to it better than my own name. However, if you take it further, and start saying in an odd way or manner when you talk to me, I will ask you to not call me anymore because you have crossed the line in using it.
- (Responding to a previous blog entry) The day that I stopped taking that medication, the terrible symptoms stopped and have not returned...
- On Thursday (2/16), I drove down to Cabela's to get a new pocket knife. I had never been inside it before. The way people told me about it, it sounded like the building was like the size of a Super Wal-Mart.... NOPE!
- I want to go fishing this year. I have not been in years! Frankly, I need to go fishing to help relax from the tension and stress that I have been having lately.
- I have decided not to get a new car at the moment with the refund I am gettin on my taxes. I plan on paying off my CompUSA credit card, pay off my dentist and have my Neon door and fender fixed... And if I have enough left over, I am FINALLY going to get that tattoo I've always wanted!
- I really enjoy reading all the comments that are sent to me using my contact page. But when someone messes around and tricks the page to send me false information (i.e. name) (like my father did), I get really pissed off. Why? One, it is not a joke (save jokes for e-mails...). Two, if you do this, you are wasting my time not only by reading it, but also trying to track down who sent the comment... I will never post the comment if that type of thing happens. Plus, the next time someone does that I and I find out who, any comment made by that person I will just end up deleting... So please be honest when using that feature.... Thank you.
- And the last thing I can think of for this type of question... For everyone and the people that come through my line, my name is not "Randy" for the last flippin' time! That is my store manager's name. Sure, the letters in my name are in his, but mine are spelt another way and I'm missing that letter "D"... Gosh!

Yes, I Know

People have been telling me about this movie that just came out called, "Date Movie"...

The reason why everyone has been telling me about it, is that some actor spoofs Napoleon Dynamite in the movie. So, as soon as I get a moment on one of my days off, I will go and see it.

New Changes

As you can see in the previous blog entry, there are words that are displayed in a teal color. I'm adding this feature because yesterday morning, after being in a terrible mood after what had happened and being so incredibly tired, I was not thinking quite so clearly when I wrote it. Therefore, A LOT of what I wrote did not make sense.

So in the future, if you ever notice anything new in teal, you will know that I have updated that blog entry and have added more information to read.

If you are asking yourself, "What happens if he redoes it again?" .... Well, let's hope that it never comes to that. Plus, once something makes sense, and is legible, I keep it as it is and leave it alone for good.

The Damage

After getting off of (her) work, Tristyn came over to my house and saw what damage had been done to my car. She did not think that it was that bad as when she originally read my blog... So, she suggested that I post a picture of what damage had been done.

Looks like I am going to have to pry it back so that I can get to and from work without it driving me crazy from the wind...

Have I Ever Told You How Much I Hate Snow

Thanks to this little snow storm that the Salt Lake valley received yesterday and over night, and because the people in my household bitch when I park on the driveway, I now have over 4 to 6 inches of snow slowly melting off of my car. But that is not the bad part, as to why I am writing...

This morning, I was told to wake up (after being asleep for less than an hour) and to move my car into the garage. But, because of the snow storm, my car and the driveway was covered in snow. I was also told to shovel the driveway. Because I parked on the street, I noticed that I couldn't get my door fully open. Ice had frozen over the fender and door, which was not visible at first. So after, I had to force it open, it caused that to totally f*ck up my driver-side fender and my door some more. There goes most of my tax refund and idea of getting a new car in order to fix this. Then trying to get up a driveway that is on a hill because someone didn't think this through back when, I peeled my front tires out trying to get up an icy driveway, just because someone in my family has to get to work. This caused me to slide the back end of my car backwards, so my car was then parked in an even path with the sidewalk. After shoveling some more, I was able to get my car into the garage.

All this on my day off and after only sleeping less than one hour since waking up at 7AM yesterday morning...

So, have I told you that I hate snow?

Wasting Time With My Friend JoAnna

Early Thursday morning, she sent me a link to look at a picture on another site. However, thanks to the "Back" and "Next' button, for the next 30 minutes I found myself looking at hilarious photos from this website...

So before you click on the link, make sure you have A LOT of free time. Otherwise, visit the pictures page of Dave's Daily... Some photos may not be suitable for younger viewers...

I haven't looked through all of them, but send me a comment as to which one is your favorite photo...

And Then Congress... Which Doesn't Do SHIT!... (Lewis Black)

Well, here another one of JoAnna's questions...

"Do you think celebrities make good governors?" (In no way is this directed to my wonderful governor.....*cough*.....yea movin' on...)

Can I make a suggestion on one thing... "When you leave your state, don't tell people where you are from." (Quote from Lewis Black)

In my opinion, some do, some don't. I have only known of four celebrities (off the top of my head) that have gone on to run in a type of government office holding. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sonny Bono, John Glenn and Ronald Regan.

So you can read it all you want and you will not have to worry about ruining your New Years resolution (if you made one to shed those extra pounds...)

Happy Valentines Day, everyone...

For Those Who Ponder

Well, here another one of JoAnna's questions...

"What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten?"
(In this case, I'm hoping you are talking about food here... So I will go with that)

Let's see... I have eaten sushi. I have eaten (before I turned vegetarian) pig... Not bacon, sausage, stuff like that. No-- It was at a family reunion and they had a giant cooker there to cook this giant pig. But as a vegetarian, I have eaten things (vegetables and fruits) that I thought I that I would never touch before I became a vegetarian... And you know what, I am glad I went vegetarian or else I would have never tried those types of foods...

However, there is nothing that I have eaten that was worse than what you, JoAnna, dared me to eat... or in this case, drink. When I was living in that apartment back in 2000 (my God, has it been that long?!) we partied every night and didn't have a lot of food in the refrigerator. So all we had in the fridge (at the time of this dare) was honey, pickles, ketchup, mustard and milk. But she dared me to mix the honey with water and drink it. Since the honey was so thick from being stored in the cold, I had to pour a small glob of it in a mug, mix it with water and then heat it up in the microwave so I could stir the two together. Since the taste of warm-warm honey and water were mixed together, it did not mix well with my taste buds.

I'm gagging right now thinking about trying to drink that...

"Kip, I Reckon You Know a Lot About Cyberspace..."

As long as I have known her, Tristyn has never really been a computer hacker. She may know a lot about computers, but she never knew or did much with or in the hacking side...

That was the case... until Saturday evening.

It turns out that she purchased a wireless network card, installed it and is receiving an internet connection located somewhere near her house. All this time I have been bugging her to get her parents to switch from, ugh.... AOL, to something faster, when in reality, she really didn't need to. And the best part is, I got her to install Firefox... Yes!

Welcome to the club Tristyn. You'll find that hacking has it's perks...

I Why, Why, Why Wonder...

Well, here another one of JoAnna's questions...

"What are your views on gay marriage?"
I'm fine with it... Just one thing-- Please don't ask me to be the maid of honor... (lol)

How Sweet It Is!

Yesterday, the 9th, Tristyn and I drove up to Idaho to get more lottery tickets. However, we first stopped by the Preston Chamber of Commerce to (double check) on the date for the 2006 Napoleon Dynamite Festival. However, the lady who runs the commerce was out for just a moment, so we walked down State Street and checked out a couple of the shops. Sad to say, I actually bought something from the Deseret Industries. It was just three CD's though. lol

So we walked back to the C. of. C., and officially found out that it is set for July 7th and 8th. I also bought a new t-shirt and keychain while I was in there. I do not know how many shirts this makes of my collection...

After leaving the C. of C., we drove down to the Plaza Motel so I could make reservations for the festival. I tried to reserve the room Jon Heder (Napoleon) stayed in while the movie was being filmed back in 2003, but the city of Preston had already thought ahead of time and reserved it before they announced the festival date. Why? Guess who might be showing up at this years festival as a "special guest"?! But the lady at the front desk told me that I could have the room Efren Ramirez (Pedro) stayed in. However, if Jon Heder does not show up, she said that she would let me have that room instead! Sweet!!!

FINALLY!!! Pt. 2

After being finally caught up in what happened in Season One and so far of what has aired of Season Two of the TV show LOST, I was able to watch a brand new episode Wednesday night because I had the day off from work.

Just so you know how long I have been waiting to watch a new episode (instead of downloading it by Bit Torrent), I would have to say... since November of last year.

FINALLY!!! Pt. 1

Thanks to Tristyn for getting my brain to think of doing this...

On Wednesday night, I installed Yahoo! Site Builder in order to make a blank comments page. After figuring out how to get it to work properly (so your comments will be sent directly to my e-mail address), I posted the comment section created with Site Builder onto the Contact page that I have already had posted. So now, you no longer have to send me any your comments via e-mail (you still can e-mail me, but trust me, it will be much easier this way for posting your comments). You can now use the Contact page to actually write in the specially made comments box what you would like to tell me, and have it be on it's way.

However, I'm still trying to figure out how this type of code works, and why it works... So there may be some things that you may notice that are not 100% right about it... But I'll eventually figure them out.

Another personal suggestion... If you have something really long that needs to be sent in the comments box, I recommend using Notepad to write on first. Then simply copy and paste...

Go ahead, try it out.... : D

For Those Who Ponder

Well, here another one of JoAnna's questions...

"Who was your first crush and did it turn into a relationship? If not, why not??"
It was back in forth grade, but I will not say whom... And no, it did not turn into a relationship. Why not? Because I didn't have the guts to talk to a girl that I liked back then. I wasn't social or very talkative...

How I Feel Some Days

Being every ones go-to guy with computers, this is how I feel some days...

Well, it may not be as bad as this cartoon... But the cartoon reminds me of the "out-there" questions people have.

It's Been a While

Well, it's been a while, so here is another one of JoAnna's questions...

"What is the sweetest thing you have ever done for a girl?"
iPod Mini, trip to Utah, mail packages every month (average), birthday flowers...

Oh, you said one.... Hmm... Been a (hopefully) good friend.

Way To Go, Annie!

Although this not her first 5K (to my knowledge), Annie completed her first 5K under the training she has been receiving from Channel 2 (KUTV) sponsored trainers. She beat her old time by 10 minutes! Come on people, send me those comments!!!

I have just posted the video clips to this past week (Week 4) on Annie's web page.

Your Opinion Is So Very Needed!

Attention everyone. Since I am getting closer to purchasing a new vehicle, and I am getting heckled for wanting a PT Cruiser... I thought I would let you help me out. Since my life now revolves around computers and technology, my interest and devotion to automobiles has gone downhill since around 2003 (that is when I started getting into computers). Meaning, I don't work on my car that much, except when it needs the basic repairs. Plus, I am not up to date with the latest models of vehicles. So this is where I need your help...

...I want everyone to e-mail me all the vehicles you think I should look into buying. I am not guaranteeing that I will get any one of those particular vehicles on your list, but it will help get a feel of what the market is like out there...

So press that envelope icon below and e-mail me your list of vehicles I should look into.

What Ever I Feel Like Doing

Well, here another one of JoAnna's questions...

"How did you become such a big Napoleon Dynamite fan?"
Oh, good question. To tell you the truth, I am not sure myself. I guess, the first time I watched it, everything that happened in the movie didn't hit me at first. I knew that I had to watch it again to understand the stuff that went right over my head. The more I watched it, the more I understood what I missed or misunderstood, and appreciated something so cleverly and well written.

As to why I enjoy it so much... LoL. That is a question for the ages. I guess I can relate to Napoleon... Well, just the part on being bullied around in high school (as with most kids out there), and the awkward feeling of trying to fit in or not getting along with the higher cliché.

But if you are worried or panicked that I may start dressing like him (i.e. Moon boots, etc...) like other folks do at (for example) Star Wars conventions, don't worry. I promised myself that I will never go that far. If I do, I will need help (lol). In fact, just so everyone out there knows, in the past month I have only watched it to fall asleep twice... instead of almost every night. So who knows, maybe and pretty soon I will be watching it every month to bi-yearly. Maybe every year. Who knows... The times are a changing for me.

Just A Little Pointer

I just want everyone out there to know that whenever something in my blog has a line through it, for example, that item or blog entry is no longer valid and/or has been proven false.

To help give you an bigger example, if you check out an entry that I posted last month, you will notice I placed a strikeout through the entire blog entry because someone (in this case, JoAnna) made a comment that stated that she checks out that specific page (and watched the video clips). So I then changed my mind on what I was originally going to go through with and re-posted the page. So now the page is back up. See what your comments can help do?

Even though you may only read each blog once after I post them, you really should scroll back down the blog and just skim each entry for strikeouts (per say) every week... Heck you might want to start skimming other months if you have the time.
