Early Christmas

We celebrated Christmas in St. George early with the Carson/McBride family since we wouldn't be in town on Christmas Day.

Cell Phone Videos 12

Now that the holidays are over, I have a lot of video footage that I would like to share with you. I'm in the process of editing footage right now, so until the videos of the holidays can be posted, I do have one video that I made back in October. It is from videos taken on my cell phone, and this is the 12th video that I have made from the videos from my phone.

First, the girls dance while visiting grandma at work.
Second, our dog (at the time) Pepper was relaxing and cooling off in a bucket of water.
Third, the girls dance along to a ballet show on the TV.
Fourth, Rachel wants to show how long it takes to set up the game "Don't Break the Ice" and how fast it takes for the girls to destroy it.
Fifth, one of the girls takes toy keys and tries to unlock the bedroom door.
Sixth, the twins play outside during a rain storm.

Just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Tis' the Season

After dealing with a busy week in my business, and still not feeling 100%, we just put up the remainder of the Christmas lights on and around our house not too long ago...

Full and front view of the house. You probably can't see it, but there is a strand of lights up on the fold of the house.

The rose bushes...
Our Christmas tree...

Halloween 2010

Better late then never, right?

Well, we had fun this Halloween and had fun getting the girls involved too. Before Halloween came around, I carved my pumpkin a few weeks before (watch the video of me carving it here)...

Then on Halloween (Saturday), we went Trunk-O-Treating with Grandma, Aunt Aubrey and G. Aunt Jann...

Then we came home and decorated our pumpkins with face pieces...

We had so much fun, we can't wait until next Halloween!

Jack Pumpkington

On Sunday, I had some free time, so I took my pumpkin and carved Jack Skellington into it. Here is the video and picture. Oh, the winner is my friend JoAnna (the one who suggested what I should carve this year).

Staheli Farm

On Wednesday afternoon, Rachel, the twins and I met up with Rachel's mom at Staheli's Farm for a work party of Kristi's.

We let the girls play on both of the swings. We let them take a wagon ride, play with the water pumps, check out the animals and took them down to the pumpkin patch. We had so much fun that 2 hours passed by before we knew it. See More of the Pictures!!!

Things I Constantly Say To My Kids...

Both of you, get off daddy.
Don’t choke dad.
Don’t eat the chapstick.
Don’t hit the walls.
Don’t jump on the couches.
Don’t kick me.
Don’t splash dad.
Don’t tease the dog.
Don’t throw your shoe at me.
Don’t touch my glasses.
Get off of the table.
Get out of my office.
Get out of the pool.
Give me the camera.
Let go of my shirt.
Put down the money.
That is not yours.
That’s daddy’s computer.
We are not going to McDonald’s.
What did you do?
What movie do you want to watch?
What’s that dress doing outside?
Where are your pants?
Where is your shirt?
Where is your sister?
You don’t eat salt.
You don’t make a nest out of toilet paper.

And the best one so far…
Don’t decorate the dog poop [with flower petals]!

Zion National Park

On Sunday afternoon, Rachel's mom drove over to our place to pick us up so we could all go to Zion National Park for a Sunday drive. We were planning to go earlier than 5PM, but the girls needed their naps.

So once Kristi arrived, we piled in her car (I say that because I am the one who sits in-between the two car seats in the back) and drove up and into Zion National Park. We made it in and past the long tunnel a little after 6. We found a parking spot along the road and parked to get out and venture around this one area. Since they were doing construction on the road, we had to be out of there by 8PM or who knows, we might have been stuck in there the whole night. But we made it back down the road and stopped at the visitor center... just as they were closing. So we looked around outside the visitor center and then decided that it was getting dark, and we needed to be headed home. It was a short trip into the park, but we had fun.

County Fair and Las Vegas

On Saturday, Rachel, the twins, Kristi and I went to the Washington County Fair around noon time. We stayed until about 2PM before it really got too hot.

Rachel had to work a 4-hour shift, but when she got home, the four of us went back to the fair to ride on the rides since they were not running when we were there earlier. We rode the Merry-Go-Round 3 times since that is all the girls wanted to ride on.

Then on Sunday, Kristi drove the four of us (in her car) down to Las Vegas to visit Heidi, Brian and Rachel's Aunt Jann. We got there and had lunch at Jason's deli. Then we went swimming at Jann's neighbor's house since she was house sitting. After swimming, we all went to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack.

Sorry for the quality of the last picture, but it was taken by an employee at Joe's Crab Shack right in front of a water mister. If you click on it, you can see more detail of Heidi and Kristi gnawing on crab legs.

County Fair and Swimming Pools

On Wednesday, the girls and I (along with their Aunt Aubrey) went to the Washington County Fair. We participated in an ice cream eating contest (a whole gallon was attempted to be eaten) and got to look at all the rides. Too bad the girls didn't want to go on any of them.

And what do you do on a hot Thursday afternoon? Go swimming, of course! The other pool we had was destroyed by a little black dog. Not naming names, but you know who it is.

These Past Few Weeks...

I guess I can write a blog entry on this peaceful Sunday.

A few weeks ago, the twins, Rachel and I drove up to visit my parents and to celebrate the girls 3rd birthday up there with my side of the family. We didn't make it into town until early Friday morning (1AM). On Friday, we gathered as a family for dinner with my sister and brother in law. Saturday, we all went (minus my brother) to Hogle Zoo. The girls had a blast! Sunday, we went to Chuck E. Cheese's to celebrate the girls birthday. Except for the girls getting a fever (and other adventures with the sickness) and Rachel getting sick on the day we were to leave, we had a fun little trip.
[More Pictures]

Then on Saturday, the 24th (Pioneer Day), we had a surprise party for the girls. We invited a few friends from Rachel's work over and a few relatives too. We bought the girls a swimming pool, filled it up the night before (while the girls were asleep) and let the kids play in it. I cooked hot dogs and Aubrey made the girls a castle cake. It was a blast!
[More Pictures]

Oh, and one more thing...
For the past 5 years (my first blog entry was on July 7th, 2005), I have been writing blog entries for you all to read. At last count, I had over 1100+ blog entries. So, I decided to go through all the blog entries that had nothing to do with me (over 150+ of them) and permanently delete them. These were blog entries about Apple, Microsoft, videos that belonged to someone else that I bet you can find on YouTube, updates to my blog that are not important anymore, etc. These are no longer on my blog.

I decided that I wanted to have this blog be about me and my adventures, not about others that no one cares about now. So if you had a link to a blog entry on here that got deleted, I'm sorry, but I am moving on. But don't worry, many of the blog entries that had to do with me, family, friends and all our adventures are still on my blog and I bet you could find them if you wanted to look through 800+ blog entries. So until my next adventure...

Bowling on Father's Day

On Father's Day, we took the girls bowling. This was the first time they had bowled themselves.

30th Birthday

The day started like any other... Being woken up early by the twins. But thanks to Rachel, she took over for an hour or two to let me sleep in. When I woke up, I took over and let Rachel get some more sleep.

A little after 11AM, I decided that it was time to wake Rachel so we could get ready to drive down to Mesquite to meet up with my parents for lunch. After getting ready, we left around 12:30 and made it into Mesquite around 1:15PM MST. Since it was 12:15 (Pacific), we had time to go get something to eat for lunch before the movie started at 2PM (Pacific). We went to McDonald's to eat and to let the girls play in the play area. Well, after eating, we drove over to the theater, purchased our tickets to see Toy Story 3 and sat down. Man, we waited a good 25 minutes before the movie started because the internet said it started at 2PM, but it didn't start until much later. The girls were pretty fine while watching the movie, even without popcorn or drinks.

Once the movie was over, we drove back to the room my parents were staying in and got ready to go swimming. We swam ... I don't know how long, but I'd say that after swimming a while (30 minutes) Ady started getting grumpy and so we decided it was nap time for the girls. Went back to the room and dried off and put them down for naps, along with Rachel and my dad (they went down for naps too), while my mom and I went to go play the slots.

Once we were done, it was getting late and so we decided to wake everyone so we can go get something to eat. Those asleep slowly woke up, but once they were up we walked over to the buffet and ate until we couldn't eat anymore. By this time, it was dark and we knew we had to be getting home soon. So we gathered our things and loaded up the van. We said our goodbyes for the night and drove back home.

And that was my fun filled birthday day.

Zion's Park

On Saturday, after getting home from a computer repair job, Rachel said that Kristi (my mother in law) was going to take the girls swimming. I then found out Rachel was getting ready too and that this was a work party for Kristi that she was going to take them to. Rachel asked if I wanted to come and I said sure. So we packed into Kristi's car and drove up to Cliffrose Inn right near the entrance to Zion's Nation Park.

We made it to the Inn around noon and then let the girls play in the kid area and then we let them swim. But since storm clouds were coming, they didn't swim long. So after getting dried off, we went and ate lunch and then let the girls play with the other kids since there was really nothing else to let them do with a storm heading our way.

After eating and visiting and deciding to head home, we were going to try and drive through Zion's NP before we really headed home. I haven't been in Zion's in Years. The girls loved driving through the mile long tunnel.

New Family Member (video)

It's been 7 months since I last uploaded something onto YouTube. Except for Christmas and Easter, this is the first time I have taken out the video camera and recorded random footage.

This is at our new place and of our new dog "Pepper".

New Family Member

As you have read in my past blog entry, we have tried to take in other dogs to give them a good home. But for reasons that I prefer not to get into, we, well I, finally agreed to let Rachel go pick up another dog from another member in our ward. This dog is about 3 months old and is part lab/golden retriever. We haven't decided on a name yet, but we are thinking about it.

So far since bringing her home, I have given her a bath since she was an outside dog. The other dog that remained was, as I was told, hyper. That is something I couldn't handle. This dog is mellow and calm. Plus, like Ginger, she just takes it easy. Ginger, I think feels jealous, but I've been petting Ginger and giving her treats.

Right now, the girls (who always want to pick her up) are asleep and I am sitting out back letting the dogs play and sleep in the back yard.

Bowling Night

On Wednesday, my sister-in-law and her boyfriend came into town to visit. That night, they asked us if we wanted to take the girls bowling. I said yes because I have always wanted to take them bowling. Well, the girls have to be 4 to bowl at the bowling alley we went to. So Kristi watched them while we bowled. [A few more pictures can be seen here.]

April's Trip to Salt Lake City

We just got back from visiting my parents in Salt Lake, so I thought I would tell you what we did.

Friday, Rachel traded a shift to work Friday morning so that she could come home at 2 and pack her and the girls suitcases, and then we would leave. But since she worked the night before, she was extremely tired and she came home Friday and took a nap (as did I). Well, we woke up around 6 and started to get ready. We could leave that night or early in the morning. We decided to leave around 9:30 that evening and made it up to SLC around 2AM. Not bad for non-stop.

Saturday, we played around out in the backyard with the girls and then we had another Easter Egg hunt for the girls in the living room [Pictures can be seen here, but you have to be a Family/Friend to see them on Flickr]. After that, we really didn't do much except lay around and visit until it was time for dinner. My sister Annie and my brother in law Ben came over and we ate.

Around 2 in the morning, both girls woke up screaming. They wanted chocolate milk. I forgot to pack it along, so I had to travel to Walmart just to get that to calm them down and to get them back to bed. That was not fun because I was tired.

Sunday, we really didn't do much except get ready for the nightly trip Rachel and I were going to take out to Wendover. I gamble, she does not. So, we brought her laptop and the scanner with us to the hotel room and she worked on genealogy stuff while I went and played. She now says that if she can do that when we go out there, she wouldn't mind going out there. Only problem is is that they do not provide internet in the room.

Monday, we got ready, packed and drove back into SLC and made it back around 2PM. The girls were napping when we arrived at my parents house, so I did too. I didn't wake up until 6, and then I helped cook chicken for dinner. We ate dinner and then watched Armageddon on TV. I haven't seen that in years.

Tuesday, I slept in until noon. That was really nice (except waking up to find that it snowed). We were planning on heading out about 3 to visit my grandparents, but couldn't leave until my mom made it back with my brother from the dentist... that was around 5:30. So we visited with them for an hour, left and picked up pizza for the whole family.

Wednesday, because it was so nice to drive at night, we planned on leaving around 8 or 9 that night. So during the day, we took the girls to visit my mom while she was at work and picked up a few items to make dinner and dessert for the family. I finished cleaning up and out my parents computer (too dusty) and then we made dinner. We ate and then hurried back over to let my grandparents see the girls for just a few minutes since we didn't bring them the night before. When we got back to my parents house, we packed up our belongings and left around 9. We didn't make it home until about 2... But we had fun and it was nice to relax.

If you are wondering, the next time I come up, I will be glad to work on computers and iPods. I just needed a break this trip.

Nice Spring Day

Today, Rachel had to work a day shift, so that left me with the girls. It was such a nice day that I took a picture of the girls playing outside. (Chloe is the one standing, Ady is the one sitting.)

End of February, Start of March

What to write about? Hmmm... Well, a few weeks ago, the twins and I drove up to Salt Lake to visit family. It was fun, but short because when I came back, I was busy day after day after day. Almost a week and a half of service jobs that I had to do. But finally on Thursday, it was the first day that I got to relax... Well, I did go in and help MacTek with a few iPod jobs. So I guess Friday was my first day off in a week and a half. But because I had been busy day after day, I had to find something to do. Luckily, the twins know how to do that.

I hope you know by now that I have been diagnosed as having Bi-polar. The doctor put me on samples of Abilify, but the insurance wouldn't pay for it unless I tried another type of med first. Less than 24 hours of being on that one medicine, I literally had to start taking the Abilify samples again. I would react so terrible towards everyone, over situations that the Abilify would keep me calm. I was aggravated. The doctor is out of town at the moment. So when he gets back on Tuesday, I'll be calling first thing and requesting more samples until the insurance agrees to pay for Abilify.

Rachel and I just talked a little before she had to head off to work, but she is going to request some time off of work in a few weeks so that we can plan on driving up to Salt Lake for a few days. Sorry, while I was up there last time, I worked. This time, I plan on relaxing... So no jobs people. Sorry.

Until next time... Keep clicking those ads on our blogs.

I Just Can't Write Enough

Still no videos or picture, I bet you are thinking, "What the heck, Ryan?! What is going on? You do not write or post about anything anymore... What gives?"

Well, when I started this blog back in 2005 (almost 5 years ago), I was single with a dead end-job (no offense to those still working there). 4 1/2 years later, I am married, we had twin girls, we just moved everything from one house to a new house in the last part of last year (and we are still unpacking stuff), and I own my own business that is now keeping me busy. So I just can't sit down and write a blog, take pictures, or edit movies like I use to. I know, it makes me sad because I loved to write about whatever.

Since I'm sitting down, I will write about what has been going on since last time.

On the 5th, I was told that I have 5 of the 9 symptoms of being classified as having Bi-Polar. Not only am I Bi-Polar, I have A.D.D. and O.C.D.-- I'm a walking nutcase!

Well, it's been a week and a half since I was diagnosed and started taking a new medication, both Rachel and I have noticed a big difference in who I am and how I react to situations. Before, I would *SNAP* or "fly off the handle" over the littlest things that your average person would be able to handle. It's getting better. I actually enjoy feeling this way.

As per the last blog entry, I mentioned how we took in yet another dog "Jack". Well, we finally had enough and had to give him back. I'm sorry, but that is the dumbest dog I have ever seen or dealt with. The Dog Whisperer would give him back saying, "Sorry... But I can't fix him" if he were to work with him. He would chew on things other than his chew toys, which were the girls toys... So we had to throw a lot of toys away. Our other dog Ginger, we will let her out (once or sometimes twice) between 10 and midnight to let her do her business. We would let Jack out too, but he would just stand there, even though he had not been out in hours. Lately, the girls would get up and wander into our room because they were scared in the middle of the night. Every time, what would I find... A gift, if you want to call it that, lying there because he wouldn't go earlier. Anyways, long story shorter, Rachel took him back and if she brings another dog into this house without me getting to know it and without it being a newborn puppy (and it's a Yorkie), I am going to return it.

I mentioned above about not posting new videos on here. Well, the only thing I recorded last was opening presents at my parents house in December. Now that it is February, I don't think anyone really wants to see it. If you want to see it, I'll burn the video files to a disc for you. ... Why haven't I recorded anything new? We don't get out much around here at the new house. I guess I can record the girls playing and running through our new house at a later time so everyone who has not seen our new house, can see it in through video.

I think that is about all. I post my random thoughts to Twitter still. It's been almost 3 years since I first started Tweeting, and I just passed my 4,000th Tweet. But that is where I post most of the random stuff I can't get to post on here. Well, until next time.

OH-- Keep clicking on the Ads on my blogs and Rachel's blogs too... Even if you do not want that product.

Please Don't Leave... My Blog

I am still alive and grumpier now then I have ever been... But, I am also more busier now then I use to be too.

The girls, this new house and my business keep me busy pretty much all of the time these days. Yes, I was once looking for a part-time job back in December, but now that seems like that is no longer needed. Not because I don't need the extra income, but because of all that goes on around here. As for my business, I don't know if it is because the new phone book just came out, or if word of mouth, or if my website (since I re-did using special code and it is now helping) or if it is because I try to post helpful tips on my business Twitter profile.... This one just popped in my head: Maybe it's because I am always driving the van around for business calls and I have to drive longer distances, people are seeing my van. Who knows?

There is so much to write about, but so little time and space.

If you read my Twitters, we (and by we, I mean Rachel) decided to get a new dog. We have tried to take care of two other big dogs, but it was just too much for us. We still have Ginger, and there is no way we are ever going to give her up, never let her down-- sorry, and I wasn't trying to Rickroll you there. But this third dog that we have decided to call "Jack" is a schnoodle. Dumb little thing, but I am making us keep him no matter what he does and makes us mad. He's still a puppy, but I plan on training him because he has been a little sss-sssurely bratty dog.

Rachel has decided to make a few more blogs. I don 't know how she does it being I barely have time to write on this one alone. If you want to check them out, check out:

Designs by Rachie, 911 Recipes, The Sharich Twins and Southern Utah Twin Moms . I'll posted links to the side so you can find your way there to these sites at later dates.

As for around here in Southern Utah, it is our springtime... Which means that is raining non-stop. And because it is raining non-stop, I bet that this is going to cause flooding in the Virgin River like it did in 2005/06. Around our house, we can't let the girls play outside because the dirt is always muddy and/or it's too cold and windy.

I'll try to type more blog entries on here, but please give me time. I still need to put together a video for everyone since the last one was in October of 2009!!!

Oh, and keep checking this blog often, and Rachel's blogs too. I have placed Google Ads on the blog and I make money off of them. I don't know if it is because they appear (even if you do not look at them) or if you folks have actually clicked on them... But it helps bring in a little extra spending money ($8-10 a month).

Wait... What?

This morning, Ady started crying for some reason. So, in order to get her to stop and to also distract Chloe, I quickly took the Tootsie Roll piggy bank (that I let them put my loose change into) and poured the contents onto the floor to let them put it back into the piggy bank. They love it when I give them my loose change to do this.

After pouring the contents out onto the floor a second time and after I counted it aloud this time (about 7 dollars and some odd cents), Chloe mumbles, "un un hour". I asked her what, she said the same thing. I told her I didn't understand. So she said "Apoleon".......

"Napoleon?", I asked.
"Napoleon Dynamite?"

Napoleon Dynamite and "something something our...?" Then it hit me...

"Six dollars...... That's like a dollar an hour." - Napoleon Dynamite

It's a New Year... It's a New Decade

So what does this mean to me?

Another big change and milestone in my business. As you know by now, we currently moved out to Hurricane in November. With my business name being iStGeorge, and with us living in Hurricane, it might be really confusing to some. So, sadly, I decided that it was time to change the name of my business again. I tried to see if was available, but the domain has already been taken and is registered until 2016. So that name was really out of the question.

But then I thought to myself that this time when I choose a new business name, I should reflect a larger area I provide services to and to reflect an individual person instead of it sounding like I run a large company. I mean, I really loved the name iStGeorge, but it just wouldn't work anymore where I live. So...

I listen to Leo Laporte's The Tech Guy podcast all the time, and I think of myself as a tech guy just as he is since people are always asking me tech questions. But since Leo calls himself "the tech guy", I couldn't call my business that (plus, the web domain for that has already been taken by someone unknown). So I considered myself as the Dixie Tech Guy-- and so that is what I decided to register my new business name as. Sure, I have been called "The iPod Guy"... But I feel that with the way Apple is designing and building the new iPods, plus the cost of buying a new iPod over fixing an old one-- I know I won't be fixing iPods forever, as compared to repairing and servicing computers. I still work on iPods, but like I said, it won't last much longer.

I am still working on getting a logo for DTG, and I plan to move everything over to the domain from the domain... But that won't be for a few months when everything is over that way. I know this is confusing to some, but since I pay for web hosting services out of my own pocket, I can not afford two domains at the moment. But know as long as you type, you will always be taken to my home page to view this blog, photos and videos.

Well, I think I have typed enough. I hope you have a great new year.
