Weekend with Grandma, Grandpa... and TJ

This past weekend, my parents and brother came down to visit us. On Friday, we went to an All-You-Can-Eat Chinese Buffet in town and then came home and played with Play-Doh (while Grandpa listened to the Jazz game). Saturday, we got together and headed up to Zion's National Park since we were able to drive into it for free... and because TJ has never been to Zion's. Sunday, we took the girls bowling and then had dinner at our place.

Christmas in Salt Lake

You'll have to forgive me, I didn't get much sleep while up in Salt Lake and so my recollection of events is quite fuzzy sometimes.

On Wednesday, December 22nd, we got packed and loaded up the van and took off for Salt Lake. It rained the entire trip up. We made it up around 6/7 in the evening and went to dinner for my mom's birthday.

On Thursday, my dad and I drove out to give more stuff to the family we did Sub-For-Santa for.

Later in the day, we took TRAX to the Joesph Smith Memorial Building in Downtown Salt Lake City to take family pictures around 2PM.

After pictures, just the four of us took TRAX over to the Gateway Mall to have lunch, and then we took TRAX back to the station where we parked our van.

Later that night, we got together again and decorated gingerbread houses. The girls helped me with ours.

On Christmas Eve, we didn't do much until we had to go the family party at 5. But since Tristyn's parents house was on the way, we stopped and visited with them for a little bit and to chat and to give them their Christmas gift from us. Then, on the way to my cousins house, I realized we left the Christmas gifts for my grandma and aunts at my parents house. So we had to drive back to my parents house to pick them up and then drive all the way back to my cousins house. We got there just in time for us to start eating and to then let the grand kids play and color Christmas decorations and mugs. Then we played a little table tennis [my tweet] and then a game involving two dollar bills (that I think is very similar to Bunco). I didn't win, but it was a lot of fun to play. After some family members left, those that remained sat down and watched a video that my sister Annie had made of my grandparents. Some of us teared up, but it was nice to watch this DVD of memories.

We made it back to my parents house safe and got ready for bed. Since I had been up since 6AM that day, I couldn't wait up for Santa any more. So we got the girls ready for bed and I slept in their bedroom... until Chloe woke me up at 7 in the morning.

On Christmas Day, we had to shortly wait until my sister and brother in law arrived to open presents...

As you see in the last part of the video, TJ and my parents finally got a new computer. I helped my parents pick it out, so I knew they were getting one. So when TJ asked me if it had [Windows] 7 on it, with a straight face, I said, "No. Vista....... Just kidding." His face dropped from sheer excitement to disappointment when I told him that. That made my day when he did that. LoL

Since it was getting close to noon, Annie and Ben had scheduled a time to talk with his parents via Skype who are currently serving a mission Dominican Republic of the Congo. But due to power outages, his parents couldn't use the computer they were going to use and so the Skype conversation never took place. So TJ and I now started to get the computer set up and get things installed on this new computer.

Around 2, my grandparents and aunt and uncle came over for Christmas lunch. Then later that evening, my grandma from Nephi stopped by, and so did my aunt, uncle and cousins. Also, earlier in the day before we started to open presents, TJ and I made a bet as to what one of his presents might be. He said it was a computer, and I told him I didn't think so... So we bet that whomever lost, had to pay for the download of a movie from RiffTrax called, Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny. He lost, so he had to pay.

On Sunday, I woke up and took my parents DVD player back to the store since they got three... Yes, three of them for Christmas. I took it back and got them a new web cam (and a cable) instead since the old one wouldn't work with the new computer. When I was leaving the Best Buy parking lot, I noticed a Barnes & Noble book store next door. One of the gifts I wanted, but didn't get, was "Sh*t My Dad Says". Since I didn't get it, I went inside and bought it.

Later in the day, we noticed it was starting to snow. But I checked the weather report and it said it wasn't suppose to snow much longer (and it didn't), so we packed up the van and then loaded up the girls and took off for home. We didn't make it home until 11PM.

But we had a very fun time up there visiting with family and making memories. I know the girls had a fun time too, as you can see in ALL the pictures or in the video above.
