Summertime Fun (Part Six)

**This entry takes place from June 30th to July 3rd, 2013**

I had to go to work that day (6/30), but before I left, Chloe made herself a cool little fort while watching Gravity Falls.

Well, I get home and find that the girls decorated their bedroom door...

... But I found out that they were not asleep in their room. Guess where I found them fast asleep?

The next day (7/1), we tried to have a picnic, but it was in the triple digits, so we tried to have it under the canopy on the back porch. That picnic only lasted 10 minutes.

Before I picked up my mom from work, I had to run up to the rec center to see why they haven't sent us a reimbursement check for the second set of swim lessons. But the rec center is next to my old middle school... And they were tearing it down.

When it finally cooled down enough, I took the girls to the local splash pad.

Before it got too dark, we came home and played out in the backyard. Ady finished my ice cream (YES! I know this is not in a cone, but if you scooped a pint into a cone, more than half the container would be gone).

On July 2nd, I don't think we did anything. I did however have to go to work and close the store that night.

On the morning of the 3rd, I took the girls to Cottonwood Heights 1st Ward to meet up with the other kids to decorate their bikes for the 4th of July Kids Bike Parade.

After helping the twins with their bikes, they helped other kids with their bikes. Such good helpers! When they had enough, we went home and started to make their birthday cake for the twins birthday party with just family (aunts, uncles and grandparents).

Since we ran out of eggs and needed icing, we ran to the store to grab those items. We said Hi to my mom and told her why we were there. Apparently, she had placed an order from the bakery the day before to have them make a cake for the party... and forgot to tell me. We grabbed the eggs and NO icing during this shopping trip, since the cake was already half way made. Finished and baked the cake. (A few days later while I was at work, my mom and the girls made homemade icing for the cake)

We put up decorations (paper streamers) for the party.

The girls thanked everyone for the gifts and for coming their party.

Summertime Fun (Part Five)

**This entry takes place from June 23rd to June 29th, 2013**

Since I had to work on Sunday the 23rd, my mom help the girls make Froot Loop necklaces.

On Monday the 24th, the twins and I had an errand to run in Taylorsville. Since it was lunchtime, I took them over to Burger King across the street. After I saw the nicest Dodge Neon SRT-4 on the way back to the truck! (Yes, I still love them!)

Then we picked up my mom from work and headed over to Annie's house. On the list of things to do, was to go to Scheel's because of the Ferris Wheel they have inside.

The girls went nuts the second we walked in the north doors.

Then we bought the tokens needed to ride the Ferris Wheel.

We had a blast looking around at all the sporting equipment that we couldn't have. We found a simple bowling game and gave the girls each three single $1's to put in the machine to play the game.

The girls found the surf boards, something they want for Christmas... : /

We found a digital camera that you hold up a board with a fish name on it, and it turns that board on the camera into a fish. We spent 10 minutes playing with that.

Aunt Annie caught one too!

Then before we left the second level, I found a game that test your speed. I wanted to do the hockey game, but it kept looping around to the home screen. So I chose baseball pitching. After the first pitch, my arm was killing me already! Sorry MLB, I can only reach a fastball of 42 MPH.

We promised the girls if they went on the Ferris Wheel, they could have a chunk of chocolate or an ice cream... They chose ice cream, of course!

Before we left, I had Annie take a picture of the 3 of us under the fish tank.

On June 25th (Tuesday), the girls helped me buzz my head out in the garage. I couldn't take it anymore, so the hair had to go!

After, I took the girls down to Lone Star Taqueria for lunch...

...and then over to the church parking lot to have the girls practice riding their bikes without training wheels. That didn't last long.

I had to go to work later that night, so I took my burrito that I did not finish to work as my meal. And to make sure nobody touched it...

Then on the 26th, (I can't remember why) but I took the girls booster seats out of the truck. They had other ideas for them.

Not much happened on the 27th, so onto Friday the 28th... In the morning, the twins brought out the inflatable slide that apparently the neighbors in Hurricane gave them. I filled it up quickly with the air compressor.

On Saturday the 29th... Well, I'll come back to this date at a later time in the future. But what I can tell you is later in the evening when I arrived home, my mom told the girls that they were going to make ice cream in a bag... You put the ingredients of vanilla ice cream in a small Ziplock baggie and place that bag in a gallon filled with crushed ice and ice cream salt... And shake the hell out of it for a long while until the ice cream freezes up.

Summertime Fun (Part Four)

**This entry takes place from June 21st to June 22nd, 2013**

For a week or two before my birthday, the girls would freak out if I went near or wanted to go into my dad's den. They did not want me to go in there. There was a surprise for me in there for my birthday. Turns out it was my piñata that my mom helped them make. So, on the 20th, I had to close the store I didn't get out of there until after midnight early on June 21st, my birthday. So when I got home, I walked into my room to change out of my work clothes, to find this hanging on the headboard of my bed.

Then after changing, I walked into the kitchen to get something to eat before I went to bed... I saw this (picture below) and balloons at the dinner table. That brown and yellow piñata is an ice cream cone they made for my birthday. Just so you know, I hate eating ice cream from a bowl, I HAVE to eat ice cream from a cone. I like the snack you get at the end of the ice cream.

Since it was late, I ate my meal and went to bed since I knew I was going to have a busy day on my birthday. Woke up and took my mom to work, then took the girls to their final swim lesson. Their teacher that they had the entire time was not there, there was a substitute. So she taught the lesson and when the 30 minutes were up, the girls each had this blue paper telling whether or not they failed. At first, I thought they passed, but it turns out they failed... Seriously?! I was mad. So, since we had paid for two sets of lessons (Level 3, which they just finished up, and Level 4, which started the following week), I had to ask the front desk for my parents money back. I was not going to have my parents waste another $41 a kid for Level 3 lessons, and have them Fail again...

We came home and had lunch. Then I took the girls to go see Monsters University at the theater near my parents house. I only had enough to take the three of us to the movie, I didn't have money for popcorn, drinks or snacks. :(

Now that the movie was over, I had to get ready for work. Yes, I had to work and close the store on my birthday... I was not happy when I saw the schedule. So I went to work and wore my birthday ribbon the girls made for me the entire night.

While I was reconciling a register for the day, I heard a knock at the countdown room. I opened it and saw Tina standing there holding this cupcake for me from the front-end crew. I gave her a hug and said, "Thank You so much!!!" She said she felt bad that I had to work on my birthday.

I finished up the night without any problems, and closed the store. So since I had to close the store, we couldn't have a birthday party on Friday.

The next day (22nd), I had to work until early evening. I thought I was going to be cashiering that shift. Nope! I was Grocery. I had to help clean out where Zion's Bank use to be (the Yard Sale items I mentioned earlier had been stored away in there). Plus, there were other things that needed to be done on my shift throughout the store. I got off my shift and was exhausted. I have to give props to the other departments in the store. It's energy draining. But I got home and we had dinner as a family.

After dinner, we went out back to take a whack at the pinata.

As you can see in the video, we let the girls take a turn at trying to crack it open it. Why we spun them around without a blind fold is unknown to me...

After cleaning up all the candy that I whacked all over the back patio, I opened cards from the family. One made me tear up...

Then we all went inside and had delicious yummy Boston Cream Pie birthday cake. Since I turned 33, my mom put 3 red candles on one side, and 3 green on the other...

After eating cake, we sat down and watched a George Lucas movie. No, not Star Wars... I know, my kids were shocked too. I recently found the trilogy pack (before the 4th movie was made) of Indiana Jones. So we sat around on the couches and watched 'Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark'. The girls fell asleep before the last part where the Nazi's open the Ark. So we put the girls to bed and TJ and I drove out to Taylorsville to pick up some medicines of mine that I needed. On the way home, we stopped at Blockbuster (YES! They still exist!) and found 3 different Batman movies he's been looking for. Made it home and went to bed.

Summertime Fun (Part Three)

**This entry takes place from June 16th to June 20th, 2013**

The next day was Father's Day (6/16). After I worked a 4 hour morning shift, I arrived home and we packed up the food and drove over to my grandparents to have a barbecue with the family and friends.

While the party was just getting started, I handed the girls my phone and said to take pictures of stuff. They were taking pictures of plants, family, and the proudest picture they took... one of the dogs butt...

We sat around talking while we were eating. I had a hamburger with Swiss cheese (as always) and was called a "racist" by TJ for not choosing American. Bah! Anyways, the girls enjoyed their food.

The day before the BBQ, I contacted my cousin Char (who runs the Pay It Forward Experience) and asked for a package/sleeve of PIF bracelets.

After eating, the girls got to eat cookies that looked like watermelons, and the family played bocee.

Later that night, after we got back home, I was trying to find a picture of my Grandpa Jarrett to post on Instagram since I posted one earlier of Grandpa Sharich and my dad holding the girls shortly after they were born on Instagram. So while doing that, the twins and I looked through the family photo albums... all 7 or 8 of them!

The next day (6/17), I took the twins to their swim lessons. Before their lessons began, one of the kids in the classes before the girls threw up in the pool they normally swim in. So they had to clear out that kiddie pool and have the classes in the big adult pool.

After swim lessons, and before I took the girls to the water park, they put my underwear and boxers over my head... They are jokers like me.

When I took them to the water park, they would switch back and forth between the splash pad and the play ground.

I only let them play for an hour there before we had to go pick up my mom from work at 4. While we were at Dan's, they were having a "Yard Sale" under the drive-up car port. The girls saw makeup and bamboo butterfly nets. I paid for the makeup, my mom bought the nets.

Since there were no butterflies to catch that afternoon, I told them to go chase after bees. I told them I would release the bees if they dared to catch one.

The next day (after getting home from work), I was cleaning my room and I hear, "Oh, dad?" I look at the empty doorway to see them walk in like this... I was laughing very hard.

On Sunday while at work, I felt like I got hit by a truck. I was starting to come down with something. The entire time at the Father's Day BBQ, I was laying down on the chair (seen above) a lot! But I made it through that shift another one on Tuesday. But on the Wednesday, the 19th, I only made it halfway through my shift. I was told to go home early. My mom had plans to take the twins to the Princess Festival in American Fork that day, so I did not think anyone was home to give me a ride home... So I walked. On the way home, I saw this.

But I made it home and found out that my mom and the girls had not left yet. They were getting ready and dressed up. Before they left and before I crashed for 4 hours, I took a picture of them in their dresses.

When I woke up, they were just getting home and showed me their painted faces.

Later that evening, I was feeling a little better, so I sat in the rocking chair on the patio and watched the girls sprinkle "quizzle dust" (see the picture below) that my mom bought for them at the Princess Festival, all over plants and grass in the back yard. Later that night while we were laying in bed, I think it was Ady, started crying because she wanted her "quizzle dust". I told her she sprinkled it all out. She ended up just wanting the bag in the end. Kids...

Next entry, My Birthday and the day after...
