Halloween 2013

I can't believe the year is almost up. Well, today is Halloween. At work, my mom and I got to dress up on Saturday (10/26 -- Kids Halloween activities in the store) and today. Here are what we dressed up as.

I found a Roman Emperor "Caesar" costume at the last minute. I found out why they held one arm up, bent at the elbow across the stomach... The sash feels like it is always going to fall off. So I did what they couldn't do... Found a safety pin and made it so it wouldn't feel like that. Made checking out groceries so much easier.

My mom dressed up as the Crazy Cat Lady...

She actually won the costume contest.

Then today on Halloween, my mom used some of my dad's gear and dressed up as a security guard.

I didn't want to dress up in the "dress" again, so I grabbed my Vote For Pedro t-shirt and wore jeans. Couldn't find any moon boots or boondoggle, but I did have my Chapstick.

The twins dressed up too... Chloe, dressed up as a witch. Ooo! Scary!

Ady dressed up as her favorite movie character, Mavis, from "Hotel Transylvania" (minus the black hair, but that is okay sweetie...).

I never carved pumpkins (again) this year. I've been too busy. Why? The girls came up and visited a few weeks ago. I'll post about that fun adventure in a few...

Happy Halloween everyone!!!

UEA Weekend - Part Four

Sunday morning, we woke up and got ready. We got packed and headed down to Mesquite.

The girls and I watched movies on the drive down. We stopped and had lunch in Beaver, as usual. Continued on our way and made it down to Mesquite. My mom and I checked in, but couldn't get our room keys until after 4. So, we went and bowled. The girls bowled one game each, but I did my usual two. While I was bowling my alone game, my mom took the girls over to the arcade to play until I was done. I finished up and my dad and I walked over to the arcade to help win tickets. After winning enough tickets, we let the girls pick out their prizes. They stocked up on sugar items. By that time, it was time to get our room keys. So we grabbed those and walked around front and the side to our rooms...

The girls watched about 30 minutes of Nightmare Before Christmas on TV before we got up and went and ate dinner in the restaurant in the casino. After dinner, I let the girls go make wishes near the wishing fountain and took a group picture.

I let the girls hug my mom goodbye before I had to take them back home since they had school in the morning.

I drove them back, but didn't make it back home in the time I was hoping because Chloe wasn't feeling well, so we had to stop at the Pilot gas station near the Utah/Arizona border. We were there a while, and after a while, we continued on the way to their house ... 5 minutes away. Made it to their house, got Chloe inside and medicines in her. I unpacked and got Ady in the bath. After Ady was done, Chloe took a bath. Got them ready for bed. Chloe fell asleep, but Ady was sad and I stayed around talking to her before I said I had to head back to the hotel. I said goodbye to her and drove to the hotel.

I drove back and played a little bit. Won some. Went to bed. Woke up, played some more, had breakfast with my parents, headed home and stopped to see the girls since they didn't go to school since they were said I had to go. We stayed for an hour and continued home and then stopped to say Hi to my grandma. Continued home and made it into SLC around 7.

The girls are expected to be up here again tomorrow for their November visit. I can't wait. So I am driving down and bringing them back up for the weekend. See you soon girls. :)))

UEA Weekend - Part Three

I woke up and decided that it was time for me to get a haircut. So I got the girls dressed and drove down to Great Clips and let the girls watch me as I had my hair cut.

After getting my hair cut, I came back and cleaned up to get those little hairs off me. Itchy!

Aunt Annie came over and made sure we were ready to go to Gardner Village for a witch hunt.

Made it to Gardner Village and went on a witch hunt. There were A LOT of people there.

Came home from that and finished up a few crafts. I believe these are Chloe's...

And these are Ady's...

After finishing up there and having dinner, I drove the girls over to my grandparents in Holladay. We stayed and talked for an hour. Went and filled up the car with gas for the trip the next day. Came home and put the veins (red icing) on eyeballs (Oreos with white frosting) while watching the U of U football game.

Finished up and got ready for bed. Said goodbye to Aunt Annie.

Part Four coming up...

UEA Weekend - Part Two

I woke up on Friday to see that the girls were already doing crafts with grandma. They were painting popsicle sticks orange and other colors.

Then we all got ready for the day and went out to GenX to look at fashionable wears. The girls found some tiaras.

We came back to the house and had lunch. Then the girls helped me. They watched me as I cleaned out the front gutters with the leaf blower.

After hopping down off the roof, the girls wanted a leaf collection, so they started rummaging through the leaves on the east side of the house.

I asked the girls if they wanted to go ride bikes and scooters. They now know how to ride them without training wheels.

They each had a turn riding the bike for 5 minutes, then I asked if they wanted to go for a walk around Brighton High School. So we put the bike and scooter in the trunk of the car, and walked around the school. Came back and let them ride the bike around once more, then headed home.

My mom had a lot of Halloween crafts for them to do, so they did bats from egg cartons.

Had dinner later. Part three coming up...

UEA Weekend - Part One

On Thursday, October 17th, my mom woke me up at 5:30AM so we could be on the road by 6 to head down to St. George to pick up the girls.

The light in the middle is the moon.

My mom drove down there while I sat in the passenger seat. About half way down, from looking down at my phone, I started to feel a little car sick (that is the first time I can recall in my adult life).

We made it down there around 10:30AM and picked up the girls from Kristi's. Stopped at Harmon's to pick a few road snacks and drinks and headed back on the road. Stopped in Beaver to get lunch at Burger King. Ady tried their $1 Fry Burger.

She ate the fries first and then the burger. Continued driving and then made a pit stop in Cove Fort, and another one at Scipio, then stopped again in Nephi to say Hi to my grandma and to feed the horses carrots. Grandma Jarrett wasn't there, so we didn't stay long... But the girls played with the baby kittens and we put an artistic touch on her clothes line.

Made it to SLC and had the girls help us put up Halloween decorations.

The girls hold their pumpkins that we carved their initials in.

Part 2 coming soon...
