Summer 2015 - Week 5

Sunday, June 21, 2015
Note: I took this entire week off of work at Dan's. To bring in a little income while I was off, I did work morning shifts at Big O Tires (M, W, F and Sat).

MY BIRTHDAY!

Since it was my birthday, I said I wanted to go have lunch up at Baja Cantina in Park City. Plus, one of the activities on our poster board was to go to the Park Silly Street Market they have each Sunday during warm months.

The girls saw a bear...

A moose...

Another moose...

Birthday lunch...

And another bear

All the ladies.

After Park City, we drove back down to SLC to have a Father's Day get together at Grandma Sharich's house.

After work (BOT), the girls and I first stopped at Jamba to cool off. Here, they wear the shirts I bought them up in Park City the day before.

After drinking the drinks, we drove over to the theater to watch "Inside Out".

Tuesday, June 23, 2015
After the splash pad, we went and got icee's at the snow shack.

Wednesday, June 24, 2015
After getting off work, Grandma Sheila and I, first took the girls to Cabela's. The girls have been to Bass Pro Shop in Las Vegas, but I wanted to show them what Cabela's was like.

3 moose in one week...?

After Cabela's, we all drove to IKEA. This is the girls taking a break on one of the pink couch.

Thursday, June 25, 2015
Since I have never been, I took the girls to Nickel Mania.
If you notice, Ady is excited because the claw picked up a ball...

Which gave her 75 bonus tickets at the counter.

Later that evening, Grandma Sheila made it so all the ladies could have a tea party with hats. Grandpa Paul and I went to have dinner at Cafe Rio.

Friday, June 26, 2015
After working at Big O, I took the girls to Cowabunga's in Draper.

After Cowabunga's, we hurried and went over to Cottonwood Regional Softball Complex to have a little fun with the activities they had before sunset...

And then we set up our chairs and watched "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water". After a big fun filled day, I dropped the girls off with their mom and grandma who were in town.

Saturday, June 27, 2015

Since I had to work Saturday morning, the girls got to play around with their mom and grandma, and then I picked them up later in the evening after we all went to dinner at Chili's.

Summer 2015 - Week 4

Sunday, June 14, 2015
On Sunday, the newspaper published Grandpa's obituary. Later that night, we all went to the viewing.

The girls were sweethearts, making sure everyone who needed a hug, received one.

Monday, June 15, 2015
The funeral was held 11:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Parish. After the mass, we followed one another to the cemetery where Jessica is buried. The girls did very well at the mass.

The girls could see their Grandpa Paul was sad, so they asked me if they "could go give him a hug". I said, "Yes, but be sure to ask him if he wants one." I love this picture.

After the procession, we all had a luncheon in the basement of the mortuary.

Later that day, the girls received a letter in the mail from their Grandma Kristi.

On the way to work at Big O, I just got off the freeway around 7:50am when I received a phone call from my Aunt Lu... She has never called me before. So I answered the phone and she told me that Grandpa Sharich had passed away. So I called mom who was at work, told her. Called Annie at work, told her. Had to call TJ to tell him and to tell him to go tell our dad. I pulled into Big O, walked in, and told my boss the news I had just received. He asked what I would like to do -- Would I like to stay and work or go home? I told him I better go home (to be with my family and because I know I would have been a safety hazard working that day). I drove back home, made sure the girls knew what was going on (sent a text to the girls mom to let them know what happened). My dad drove over to meet with the family who was already there. The girls and I got ready for the day, picked up my mom from work, and headed over to meet with my dad and family members. The girls sat in the lobby as I said my goodbyes. I wasn't there long before I had to say goodbye to everyone so I could get the girls back to the house. But we stopped at Dan's (my work) to let them know what was going on, and to say that I would let them know when the funeral would be. But when I got home with the girls, we ate lunch, and I don't remember much while we were at home until later in the afternoon when we headed to the library so we could pick up a few books about explaining about the loss of a loved one to children. They found a few books of their own while we were there.

I had them help me to quickly clean out my car, but they were goofs and hopped in the trunk. So I had to quickly take a picture of these silly girls.

One of the fun things to do this summer was to go to Woody's Drive In. So, that is where I took the girls to get dinner.

I told the girls about their ice creams that they dip in chocolate, and that we each had to have one for dessert. We ate them on the way home and boy did they melt fast. Ice cream all over! lol

We read the books we checked out (dealing with the loss of a loved one) from the library later that night, so they could understand what was going on. I told them, "if they have any questions, always feel free to come to me or we could call [their mom]."

Since I knew I had to keep busy, I got everything packed (food) and took the girls to the zoo. This year, because they were releasing Jurassic World, they brought back the animatronic dinosaurs. So we had to go check that out.

It started sprinkling, raining and then pouring while they were playing in the sandbox. We stayed dry by hiding underneath the canopy at the food stand in the background.

I love this picture of them trying to feed the fake dinosaur a leaf.

Later that night, we made s'mores again, but this time with Hershey's Cookies & Cream instead of regular chocolate.

Since we had now seen all 3 Jurassic Park movies, we could now go see Jurassic World in the theater. The girls first had to pose in front of the new Inside Out display.

After the movie, the entire family was getting together for a get together.
