My Halloween Costume

ORIGINALLY POSTED ON MY GIRLS BLOG...

So you girls have been asking me what I'm going to be for Halloween... Well I finally decided yesterday.

The City Geek

I'm going to dress up in my jeans and my nice black shirt (the usual attire when I fix computers). Since I needed people to know I am the "City Geek" and my shirts don't have my new logo stitched into them, I had to improvise. I went out in the garage and used one of grandpas lanyards (he has about 100+ that he has collected from different auto events over the years). So I took one that is not car related (blacked out the logo/website on it that is non existent anymore). Took a plastic sleeve that you put your event tickets in on the lanyards, and made this to put in the sleeve...
I turned it into a 4x6 picture and had Walgreens print it this morning. And if they ask, I will be handing out my new business cards with me. This way I can fill that water jug. :)

(And sadly, yes, that was the best recent picture of me lol)

Hope you "ghouls" had a fun day, and an even better night at Trunk or Treating.

Love Dad!

UEA Weekend

On Thursday, October 15th, Grandma Sheila (who had driven down the day before) brought the girls up to Salt Lake to spend the UEA weekend up here.

When they arrived, they played a little bit with Brodie out in the front yard.

Then after dinner, we packed up the car and headed up to Ledgemere Picnic Area in Big Cottonwood Canyon to make s'mores and roast Star Burst. But first, before it got too dark, I showed them this cave that I haven't been inside in 16 years.

Later that night, the girls gave me a present before bedtime.

On Friday, I first took the girls bowling at Olympus Hills Lanes. It has changed so much since I worked there back in 1996.

Ady beat me by one.

After lunch, I took them ice skating.

After skating, the girls and I drove down to Walmart to get a few things to make a care package for JoAnna before she had surgery in November, and grabbed a few pumpkins too.

On Saturday, we drove over to Veteran Memorial Park next to Aunt Annie and Jaimi's work at the courthouse in West Jordan, and met up with Aunt Annie while there. We let the girls play a bit so they would be hungry for lunch.

Since the library was next to the park, we walked over there to play with the Halloween displays they had up and to take pictures.

We all grabbed a bite to eat, and then headed over to Gardner Village to check out Witchfest.

When the girls and I arrived home, we found newspaper and knives and started to carve our pumpkins we bought.

And then we helped Grandma Sheila prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for the entire family.

After dinner, the girls and I took Great Grandma Sharich back home, and stopped at my work to grab my schedule. We were going to go get a shake at Shivers, but ended up going to Jamba Juice instead. They played with the toys while we waited for our shakes.

After we arrived back home from Jamba juice, Aunt Annie had a few gifts for the girls since she was heading home and the girls were heading home the next day.

The girls slept in my room with me during the night. Grandma Sheila took them back home the next day... but not before stopping in Nephi to pick up Great Grandma Jarrett and to feed the horses.

But you are probably asking yourself, "Wait?! Didn't the girls meet Jaimi and Kaili while they were up here for the weekend?" They did not. Before Jaimi and I had even started talking, Jaimi and Kaili already had plans to go to Disneyland with her family this exact weekend. It wouldn't be until Winter Break before everyone gets to meets one another.

30 Years

30 years ago today, I remember it was the day when we moved into our house: October 5, 1985. 30 years later, we are still here... But a lot has changed in 30 years.
